Samara's POV

I woke up to a commotion, yelling I think, that I couldn't quite make out. I opened my eyes and sighed. Drama. There was usually some around here. Derek my roommate didn't really seem to get along with anyone. I had no issues but he sure did like to pick fights with the other guys in the house. Something about Luca moving his laptop. I rolled my eyes, still exhausted from the night before.  I changed my clothes quietly, just dressed in time for Derek to come storming into the room.

"I'm sorry Samara. I just can't deal with him anymore." He snapped. I shrugged him off and apologized blandly as I watched him stuff his things away into his bags.

"I guess you need a new roommate." He left without another word and I rolled my eyes instinctively. Somehow this didn't shock me. But of course I had to be awoken by it all.

I grabbed my things and tromped downstairs to Jett's with nothing better to do today then sit and work on some material.

No matter where I was, I always took photos. Posed, candids, funny random things I saw when we went out. I captured it all.

I browsed eagerly for pictures I took of all of us the other night. Bingo, I opened up the date and found them all. Gems. Pictures of Luca and I with our red solo cups smiling, candids of Tracy and Gus, animated as hell, playing monopoly and yelling. And pictures of Gus and Goth, glances I happen to catch, they were pretty much staring into one another's souls. Tracy even tools some candids of me and of Luca and I stared at them. He actually had a good eye, although staring at a photograph of myself felt new. I was never in front of the camera. He caught a good one of me laughing, next to Luca and Gus and I admired it closely, nearly touching my computer screen. I lived for this, reminiscing on small moments that made me who I am. I had headphones in and I bumped xxxtentacion, alone in the comfort of the large booth surrounding me. I had a frozen coffee and I skipped breakfast. My stomach growled and I decided to ignore it. I seldom had alone time, between roommates and friends now. It felt odd, sitting here by myself. But my inner peace grew as I thought about other things than Derek and the apartment.

Only a few minutes later, Luca slid into the booth with me. I pulled off my headphones and sighed.

"Did Derek actually go?" I asked, anxiously.

He nodded slow.

"So I'm getting a new roommate?" I piped up.

He bit his lip. "Yeah but, you're gonna have to pay full room cost until you do. Rents due soon, six days."

Of course, like I just had an extra $350 laying around. Maybe I'll go sell myself on the corner.

"Just fantastic. Like I asked for this." I sat up abruptly and shut my laptop, but he stopped me.

"Wait hear me out. Please." He insisted. I sat back down.

"What?"

"I'll pay the other rent portion for you. Just please, help me make and sell merch. I need this."

"Come again?" I wasn't sure what this entailed.

"Help me design shirts and hats and shit and get them made. We can both make money, we can help each other out like this. Please. It would mean the world. You have an eye for what looks good. Seriously." The kid was practically on his knees and begging and a I felt a smile grow across my face. I couldn't really hide the "yes" in my face and he punched the air with happiness.

"YeS!" He hissed. I rolled my eyes.

"Ok so what do you need me to do boss?" I joked with a chuckle.

He winked at me. "Draw. Design shit, well see."

He handed me an iPad and patted it softly on the cover. I raised a brow and he chuckled.

"Keep it." My eyes widened a little.

"Seriously. Draw shit for merch and keep it, I hardly use it."  He insisted.

"Are you sure?"  I tried.

"PLEASE." He grinned. Feeling a little guilty and somewhat spoiled, I opened the case and found the app to draw on, stumped as to what might go on a Luca Lyons tee.

I doodled aimlessly as he watched me without a sound. I glanced at him, he was visibly shaking as he chugged his entire Americano in one and a half gulps.

"Coffee over sleep?" I mused.

"Yup." I laughed at his caffeine jitters and felt my own coming on. Truth be told, something about Luca got me going. His hair, his eyes, his body...I suddenly became distracted and I whipped myself back into the zone.

"You good?" He raised a brow and I shrugged it off, having not a clue what I might've said or done in the last moment or two.

"Thinking of what to draw" I lied with a smile. He ate it up.

"Fuck yeah, dude. I'm glad we could help each other." He rose to his feet and so did I, just to hug him at least before he went on his merry way to visit Wicca and Horse...

He totally saved my ass and I hardly even said thank you. I mentally slapped myself a little as I headed back upstairs.

To make the day even more weird, I of course walked in on one thing I didn't want to see.

Tracy, and Haylie, in the living room, and they were fucking.

I could feel the pinky swear to "not tell Dex" coming on before it even happened.

Good, I thought to myself. One less of the guys to worry about hitting on me and trying to get with me. I was terrible for even thinking that considering Haylie and Dex were supposedly solid, but I supposed not. The roommate plot thickens, and so the secrets began.

I popped two xanax and crashed into my empty room. I didn't have time for this shit.
