Samara's POV
Were flying down the road in the Honda laughing and screaming because I could hardly contain myself. He was uttering some nonsense about yunggoth and xanax and something about lean.
"These guys are so cool, I hope they like the photographs." I bit my lip and laughed as Luca rolled his eyes.
"You know they will." He rolled his eyes at me.
We arrived at the hotel and found the room, it was far from quiet. Music was playing as we entered, and to my surprise, the suite was huge. I saw pretty much everyone from the show including a couple other people. I felt almost too sober for my own good and I headed towards an empty corner. I popped three xanax and sighed.
"I knew I liked you." A voice behind me chuckled. It was Peep.
"Oh, hey." I turned to him with a smile.
"So did you get some fire ass photos of us, or what?" He asked without a flinch
"Samaaaarrraa..photos! Yeah..." Goth chimed in, standing on his toes to lean on Peep's shoulder. He looked down at the shorter man and cracked the widest smile, I swear.
The guys gathered round as I linked my camera to Peep's laptop and scrolled through the photos. They were all pretty quiet about it.
"Damn dude...I gotta say, I'm fucking impressed." Wicca piped up.
"Hell yeah Samara these are the shitttt." Goth and Peep and the rest of the clique agreed. I felt my cheeks turn rosy.
"Thanks guys I had fun." I managed to get out.
"So I guess we've found our new photographer then?" Tracy asked the clique. They were all in agreement and I sat there stunned.
I had officially landed my first real job.
We drank and smoked the night away and as shy as I was, I was somehow starting to open up.
Especially to Tracy. I'd never met someone so easy to talk to, except for Luca maybe. We sat in the corner talking Music, photography, friends, life. He spoke so highly of all the guys in the clique, they were all his brothers. Aside from Peep he was basically the leader of the clique.
Peep and Goth were his forever brothers. The three were inseparable and I could see why. He talked about how Peep was new to the clique and about how they were so happy to welcome him in, much like they welcomed me as their new photographer.
"We hardly knew him but he was on the next level you know? It just happened, kind of like you, girl." He smiled at me.
"I didn't think my photos were that good-"
"Nah don't play me like that- you portrayed us for who we really are in those photos. That's hard to do I think. That's why you're here, Samara. You're talented and you don't even know it." I blushed at his kind words.
"Thank you- it's been a dream of mine. It was just hard to pursue back home- but, this is home now. This city makes me feel- alive. That's why I love taking photos of people- to show life and depth and- I guess to show the world who they are, like you said." My voice was low as I finished my words and I found myself starting into Tracy's eyes.
"Dammit you're beautiful. I'm sorry. I just had to tell you that." He whispered.
Lil Tracy thought I was beautiful, I blushed a bit and did all I could to not make a fool of myself
"You're pretty handsome yourself." I shot back.
"Oh I knowww." Goth butt in, looking pretty loopy. I couldn't help but laugh at him.
"Fuck outta here." Tracy laughed.
Being around them felt so natural, so easy. Like I had known them my entire life, or something. Like I was somehow by destiny, meant to meet these guys.
We left early that morning, and something in me had changed. Samara the photographer, the dreamer, who was friends with Lil Tracy and drank like mad in hotel rooms far away from the places she once knew. This was the new Samara. This was starting over, And, for once in my life I felt completely and totally free.
