I groan as I have to listen to Kaya go on and on about this new guy that she met. All she's going to do is fuck him again and leave. She always gets offended whenever I ask if she has a sexual disease, but how can I not ask when she basically fucks any dude with a dick. She doesn't even care if they can walk or not, as long as they can have sex, she doesn't give a shit. People don't get how she is my best friend, but she isn't just a walking talking sex machine, she is an amazing person. She uses sex as a coping mechanism to deal with her depression. As unhealthy as it is,she doesn't let anyone stop her. Believe me, I've tried.

A few hours later, my mother comes home from work and sees Kaya passed out on the couch. Kaya may look skinny, but she's not skinny enough to carry up a flight of stairs, even with help. "Did you skip school again?" My mother asks, clearly tired of my behavior. I sigh. "Kaya needed my help so--" I begin to explain. "That girl is a terrible influence on you." My mother says, pointing at Kaya in disgust. "No she isn't." I say, trying my hardest to defend Kaya, but clearly failing. She honestly is a terrible influence on me,but I can't let her go.

My mother looks away, knowing that she was clearly defeated and I wasn't going to listen to her. She walks upstairs and shuts her door. Christina walks downstairs looking confused. She is about to ask what happened when I just shake my head. She understands my signal and just sits next to me. We sit in silence for what felt like an hour until my little brother, Collin walks into the door with my dad. Collin starts running upstairs to play video games, totally ignoring me. My father takes one look at Kaya sleeping on the couch and just walks upstairs, knowing that my mother is upstairs as well. "Kaya needs to leave." I say quietly, making sure only Christina heard me. Christina nods and wakes up Kaya. "Time to go, you can come to my house." Christina says. Kaya is too tired to argue so she just follows Christina out the door, not saying a word. I sigh, knowing that no one will come downstairs for awhile because they think Kaya is still here. My whole family hates her.
