Chapter 10

Meetings. Meetings with the funeral firm, about what kind of coffin to burry my dad, what church to be in, where the memorial should be and so on. Is this where my life have taken the turn to? Planing funerals and begging my sister to come back to me..? If anyone wants to switch places with me and my life then I'd be happy to. It can't get much worse than this, can it.

I haven't spoken to Pete for a long time now. He had to go to Virginia to do something for work but he wouldn't tell me exactly what that was. He's still a bit of a mystery, he always was.. I just hope he doesn't get sick, if he did I don't know what I'd do to be honest.

Loosing my dad and having Lilly not talking to me plus Sam not letting me see her is already more than I can handle. Not having Pete here.. well it'd destroy me or make me destroy myself. One way or another.

The reason I'm thinking this is because he's been looking a bit ill lately. Before he went to Virginia I mean. You're probably thinking, “why don't you just ask him about it?” but the thing is I have asked him. And told him that he's looking ill and not well at all but he just says that he's fine and it's nothing to worry about. When I asked if he'd tell me if he's sick he just changed the subject so I don't know what to believe.

Like I said before, I've been on meetings concerning the funeral and the fact that we're.. well I'm low on money it'll be a very simple one. The cheapest and easiest coffin I could have along with the cheapest church.. The minister didn't come with the church but you'd have to pay extra which is completely absurd. The minister works in the church so why wouldn't I get a minister along with the church? I think I've gone to the wrong funeral firm.. They're probably just saying that to get more money from me.. Selfish bastards! I'm 16 so they think I don't know better? I'm not an idiot for screaming out loud. I'm going to have to have a talk with them and if they don't fix it.. I'll have him cremated.. No coffin needed and no overly priced flowers that I can't afford anyway.

As lovely as Pete is, he offered to help me pay for everything but I couldn't live with the thought of him spending thousands of dollars on my dead father. He was my father and he deserves better than the funeral I can give him, but he doesn't deserve a such good funeral that I'll let Pete pay for it. Am I mean for writing and thinking this?

“Hey there! I haven't seen you in a long time.” It was Charlie. They guy I had met the same day Pete told me about my dad.

“Hi, yeah I know and I'm sorry.” I said and I was genuinely sorry about it. I had gotten his phone number and when I wasn't as depressed I'd give him a call and we had talked about everything and nothing as usual.

“What's going on?” He asked with a smile.

“Oh, erm.. Not much. Just meetings and well... things I have to deal with you know.” I said with a sigh.

“Oh, yeah. Sorry I didn't think before I said that. It was dumb of me.” Charlie explained.

“Charlie, stop. It's fine, it's a normal question to ask.” I told him with a small smile. “What's up with you then?” I said trying to change the subject.

We were walking towards the main school building. I had english with Mr. Parker and Charlie the poor guy had math with Mrs. Wilson. We went to the school café to buy some coffee we both was in desperate need of.

There we were, buying some coffee when I felt a nudge on my right shoulder. I turned around to see the one and only Jamie. I hadn't seen her in.. I actually don't know how long it's been since the last time but she looked just like I remembered.

She still had her hair short, or mid-length I guess you could call it. As always she's got her hair dyed, this time in a bright pink colour. Jamie is one of those people who looks good in any hair colour and any kind of clothes. She could wear full on punk clothes and then the next day a girly summer dress with heals and the whole package, looking freaking amazing in both styles. Then there's people like me, who only can wear the same type of thing everyday. For me it's black skinny jeans and some sort of top. I wish I could suit in a dress or skirt but I seriously look like a big, fat burnt sack of potatoes with wholes in it..

“Hey there stranger!” She said as happy and cheerful as ever with a big smile.

“Hey Jamie! I've missed you so much.” I say whilst hugging her.

“I've missed you too love.” She said hugging me back. “Oh who's this little hottie then?” She asked me looking at Charlie.

“Oh, erm.. Jamie, this is Charlie, one of my new friends. Charlie, this is Jamie, one of my best, weirdest and oldest friends.” I waved my hand between then like you do when you introduce two new people to each other.

“Oh I'm not that old. I can be any age you want me to though.” She said to Charlie while shaking his hand. The poor guy looked so lost and kind of scared of Jamie.

“Do you mind if I steal her a way for awhile?”

“What? Yeah um, sure! I mean, of course you can. I mean.. she's your friend.” Charlie said slowly and nervous. (awe).

“Yayy, great! I'll bring her back soon. Or maybe I won't. I guess you'll find out.” She said sticking out her tongue at Charlie whilst dragging me outside to the same bench where I first met him.

“So. What's up with that guy?! He's hot! Are you dating or are you just.. you know?” She asked raising her eyebrows when saying the last part.

“What? No! We're just friends and no we are not friends with benefits oh my god Jamie!” I playfully hit her arm.

“Well if you're not then I will make my move on him. He's hot and he seems like the sweetest guy, a bit shy yes but oh so nice.”

“Go ahead Jamie, he's all yours. What did you want to talk to me about anyway?”

“Oh I haven't seen you in the longest time, is it really that weird that I wanted to see and talk to you?” She asked, a little hurt.

“No, of course not. I know I should've called or texted but I've just been really busy lately. I'm sorry.” I told her honestly.

“I know you've been busy, but the more reason to call or at least text me. I'm your best friend and that's what I'm here for. I support you at all times even when you don't want me to but that doesn't mean that I will force myself onto you. That sounded weird but you know what I mean.” She paused, watching my reaction I'm guessing. “So. Tell me. What's your plan?” She then added.

“Umm.. I don't know. I mean you know how Sam is. Calling the police is out of the question, who know's what he'll do then. I've been trying to see her everyday and will continue on doing so but either she doesn't want to see me or he won't let her. Either way, I have nothing.” I told her.

“We could always break into his house and steal her back. Well it wouldn't really be stealing sense she's your sister and all that but it could work.” The scary thing is that I think she was serious when she said that.

“Well I don't know about that..What I do know is that I have history class with Mr. Parker in a little less than five minutes so I better go.” I said and gave her a hug.

A/N

This is a bit of a different chapter than the last ones. The next few will be a bit more like this, it may not be happening a ton of things because there's already a lot happening with Lilly, Sam and her father so I'm working on that right now. BUT what's happening in the next few chapters will be very important because they are leading up to something.. big.

As you've may have noticed, there are a lot of things happening in this book and things will keep happening. This is far from over. I promise you, things will happen and you won't be disapointed. I just ask you to have patients becauce like I said before, these next chapters are a build up to something much bigger.

QFTC: This time I just want you to tell me what you think of these kind of chapters. Also, what do you think of Jamie?

THANK YOU for reading and voting! Seriously it means so so much to me! Please keep reading, voting, commenting(!!) and share this story if you like it. Love you xx
