Chapter 22

I'm not lying. Technically. I can just blame it on the memory loss of what happened last night. I can't tell them that I did it because of Matt and Amy, or even Taylor and Mia. Why? Because the truth is, I want what I can't have. Maybe if I just meet this Mia girl, I'll realise that she's a million times better than me and then be happy for them. Yet again, maybe not.

"Ok" Taylor replies. Is that it? He's not going to push me for an answer, guilt me into telling him? See, this is why he's my best friend.
"Okay" Shawn agrees "I'm gonna go find out when you can leave, after all I am your brother" he says wiggling his eyebrows
"I'll come with you" Taylor adds. It's as if he doesn't want to be in the same room as me on his own, I can't say I blame him, I wouldn't want to be with me if I was him.
"Ooh Hayes wants to talk to you" Shawn laughs
"Really?" Maybe he told everyone about us?
"Yeah"
"Send him in then" I say. Shawn and Taylor leave and seconds later Hayes comes in. He looks upset.

"Hey Hayes"
"Sky." He says bluntly
"What's up?"
"I have to talk to you"
"What about?"
"Maybe you should sit down" He says sitting beside me
"I am sat down Hayes?"
"Sorry, my head is all over the place"
"I'm sorry I put you through that Hayes"
"Yeah"
"Hayes, tell me"
"Tell you?"
"Tell me that we're over"
"How did you know I was going to say that?" He stiffens in his seat
"I could see it in your eyes" I sit up more in bed "It's okay, I don't blame you, I'm no good for you, I'm no good for anyone"
"You are good enough Sky"
"Then why are you breaking up with me?" He doesn't respond for a long time "Let me guess? Taylor?"
"Matt"
"Matt? Why would he even-" I can't find the words to finish "So you're going to listen to him? After all the shit, you're actually listening to Matt?"
"He gave me reasons to why I couldn't give you what you deserve"
"And what's that?"
"Because I'm not him"
