"Taylor?" I say confused "No, Taylor wouldn't do that. He's not that smart"
"Yeah you're right"
"What?"
"It actually was Mia, I just wanted to see how you'd react"
"Oh my god. I hate you" I joke pushing him slightly.
"Hey!" He laughs, regaining his balance. He looks at me- his eyes lock with mine and he begins to lean in. I lean in too. His lips lightly brush mine until he pulls back. "I can't do this. You have a boyfriend"
"I have a boyfriend and I was about to kiss you. Even worse- I wanted to kiss you"
"We should go back inside" He says getting off the car.
"Yeah" I agree following him.

As I walk in, the sound of rap music and the smell of alcohol hits me like a tidal wave. I take a few moments to get used to it and begin to search for Matt.
"Hey baby" I hear a voice say as arms snake around my waist. I spin around so that I'm facing the person.
"Hey Matt" I say guiltily. How could I do that to him? I almost kissed Jake.
"What's wrong beautiful?"
"Nothing" I say fake smiling.
"You know how much I love you right?" He smiles.
"Of course I do"
"You're my whole entire world Skylar"
"I know" I say avoiding eye contact.
"Okay so what's actually wrong?"
"I-I" I start. I can't do it. I can't tell him. No one saw it anyway. "I'm just so happy that you guys threw this party for me"
"Anything for my princess"
"You spoil me too much" I giggle
"You deserve it baby girl" He smirks and leans in. I kiss him lightly. "Is that all I get?"
"For now" I smirk and walk away from him.

"Sky!" Jack Johnson calls over to me as I step into the crowded kitchen.
"Hey!" I say joining him.
"Are you enjoying the party?" He shouts over the noise of the music booming through the house.
"Yeah! Are you?"
"Yeah it's great! You never told me there were so many hot girls at your school."
"I didn't notice" I laugh
"Do you know that Avery girl?"
"Yeah"
"She's so hot! Do you think you could talk to her for me?"
"THE Jack Johnson is afraid to talk to a pretty girl?"
"I'm not as confident as you think?"
"Confident enough to make a bet saying you could get me into bed" I laugh
"SKY!" He whines. "Please, can you just talk to her?"
"JJ, I hate to break it to you but she's more of a Gilinsky girl"
"You're kidding me" He says, his smile fading "This always happens to me! They always prefer Jack to me"
"Hey! I'm a Johnson girl"
"Have you been drinking?"
"Nope" I laugh
"Then why would you say that?"
"I know I'm dating Matt so obviously Matt's number one"
"And Gilinsky is second?"
"No" I laugh "Jack I'm serious, why would I have kissed you and not Gilinsky?"
"Because you felt sorry for me"
"Shut up. You're drunk aren't you?"
"Maybe" He laughs "I just really want someone to fuck right now"
"Oh my god Jack"
"What?" He slurs
"You need a break" I laugh pouring him a glass of water. "Drink this- the whole thing"
"You sure do take care of me"
"How do you get drunk in the middle of the day?" I laugh.
"It's like 7pm"
"No Jack, its 1pm"
"Oh shit"
"I have to tell you something, but you're too drunk"
"Tell me" He says jumping up and down.
"I almost kissed Jake"
"You what?" He laughs.
"You heard me. I don't know what to do"
"Well, you didn't actually kiss him"
"Yeah, because he pulled away"
"He pulled away?"
"Yeah, that makes it even worse"
"At least he's not Matt's best friend"
"I guess"
"Sky, you can't feel too bad about this" Jack says taking my hand "He slept with your best friend multiple times"
"But we weren't dating"
"How do you know? He might have cheated on you when you were together"
"He did. He kissed Amy"
"What? When?"
"In the hospital. Jack you know all this!"
"Do I?" He says taking a sip of beer.
"Jack, no more alcohol for you"
"But Sky!" He whines again.
"No Jack. I'm looking out for you"
"Whatever. You always ruin everything"
"You don't mean that! I know you don't"
"No I do. You ruined it with Nash and Taylor and Hayes and Matt and Amy and your mom. Now you're ruining it with me"
"Jack"
"I don't need you to baby me"
"Fine. Do what ever you want. Just drink yourself into a coma. I don't care" I say storming out of the room.

"Baby girl, what's wrong?" Matt sys as I flop down on the sofa next to him.
"Jack's been drinking. He's drunk"
"He'll be fine. Just ignore anything he said"
"Matt" I say quietly "I've done something horrible and I'm so sorry"
"What have you done?"
"I almost kissed Jake"
"What?" He laughs
"Why are you laughing?"
"You think I care about you almost kissing Jake? I hurt you so bad, I'm pretty sure I deserve worse then you almost kissing Jake."
"You're so amazing" I say
"Not as amazing as you" He says taking my legs and lifting them across his lap.
