"Wait what?" I say stunned. Did he just say what I think he said?
"You're in Sky."
"I got the recording contract?"
"Yeah. Langford said that he wasn't sure how you'd respond to hate. He didn't think you'd stand up for yourself."
"Obviously he doesn't know Sky" Avery laughs joining my side. "Hi I'm Avery. Sky's best friend" She smirks at me. She's right- she is my best friend. She's the only girl I actually get along with. I just naturally fall out with girls but with Avery it's easy to be myself and not a total bitch.
"Hey. So Sky, are you going to take it?" James asks me
"Take what?" Avery says
"We want Skylar to join Paradise records." James explains
"You got it? Oh my god. Sky! I'm so happy for you" She says jumping up and down.
"I have to talk to my dad about it before I agree to anything" I tell James.
"Well here's my number" He says taking my hand and writing his digits on the palm of my hand "Don't leave it too long beautiful" He says walking away from me.
"He's hot" Avery says looking after him as he walks out of sight.
"Avery can you focus for a minute? I just got a recording contract! This could be the begining to my whole life"
"I'm so excited! When you become famous don't forget me yeah?"
"I doubt I'll become that big" I laugh
"You don't get it do you? Paul Langford- likes you. He never signs artists unless they're amazing. He makes superstars out of everyone he produces. You're going to become a lot more famous very quickly"
"I'm scared" I admit
"Don't be. You've got me and Jake here for you 24/7. I'm pretty sure Matt has your back too. And of course your 10 boys and Mia."
"Mia" I mutter
"What? We don't like her?" she asks. I shake my head in agreement. "She's a bitch anyway" Avery smirks. I can't help but burst out laughing. This is what I love about Avery. She honestly does always have my back. She has nothing against Mia yet she turns on her so quickly to support me. "You have to call the boys!" She yells suddenly.
I nod and we go out to her car. I dial my house number as Avery talks to Jake on the phone. Luckily Matt Stevens is with him at this point so I can tell everyone at once. Everyone but Matt.
"Hello? Dad? Can you put the phone on loud speaker? I have some news!" I say down the phone. Avery puts her phone onto speaker too and I wait until everyone is ready. I take a deep breath. "I got the call" I state
"The call?" I hear Camern's voice.
"I'm now the newest artist at Paradise Records" I say trying to contain my excitement. Suddenly I hear screams and cheers blast out from both phones.
"I'm so proud of you Skylar" Dad says down the phone.
"So I can do it?" I ask hopeful
"If this is what you really want to do then go for it. I'll support you throughout it"
"Thank you! I love you all! I'll be home soon!" I say hanging up. Avery also hangs up and we drive back to my house.
I walk in the door to find Jake and Matt Stevens also there too. And Mia.. Everyone quickly engulfs me in hugs.
"Skylar. Before you decide to go through with this. I need you to call the one person who knows what you'll be experiencing." Dad says as he holds me in a hug. I lean back and look at him.
