Y/N's POV
My eyes fluttered open on an ordinary Friday morning.
I yawned and looked at the clock that was just chillin' on my desk, and my eyes went wide. "Frick."
IT WAS 11:30 IN THE FREAKING AM.
"DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT DAMN IT!" I yelled, throwing myself off of my comfortable bed and frantically searching through clothes to wear.
Suddenly, a knock sounded.
"Do I really have to do this now?" I muttered, rubbing my temples.
I ran like Sonic to the door and opened it.
I was shocked who I saw behind it, to say the least.
It was Max and David.
"Guys?" I said, running a hand through my h/l, knotted hair. "W-what are you doing here?"
"We've been waiting for you for centuries!" Max yelled. "Where the hell have you been?!"
"Max," David sighed, "I'll handle this." He looked at me, a soft smile on his face. "We've been waiting for you for 4 hours, and you still haven't come. What happened?"
I sighed. "You guys are gonna be really disappointed by this explanation, but I slept in late. I probably forgot to set my alarm."
David gave a long, drawn out nod, like he had been in the same situation before. "Well, there's no point in going to school now, is there?" David smiled.
"Huh?" Max and I asked in unison.
"Well," David said, "you guys would only be at school for 3 more hours. And what's the point of that?"
"So, what you're saying is," Max said slowly, "you're letting us skip school?"
"Yuppers!" David exclaimed, nodding his head.
"Everything okay in your brain?" I asked slowly after about 5 seconds of silence.
"Oh, hush," David smiled, rolling his eyes. "Come on. I'm taking you guys out for coffee."
"AW HELL YES!" I screamed, stomping one foot on the ground.
"Hey!" David scolded. "Language!"
Max chuckled. "Usually he does that to me. It's nice to see some changes around here."
I rolled my eyes. "Now I know how annoying it is."
David beamed. Don't know why, considering I just called him annoying. "All righty, kiddos. Let's go."
* * *
The Camp Mobile pulled into The Only Coffee Shop's parking lot. (Ey! Get it? Reference to Camp Camp's The Only Bar? Yeeeaaah.) "The people who made this coffee shop are so original," I snickered, causing Max to snort.
* * *
There was a doorbell perched on top of the door that made a cheerful jingling noise as I opened it.
The Only Coffee Shop seemed pretty cozy by the looks of it. It had poofy little armchairs in the corner, a bar, and even a few bookshelves.
I was frozen, admiring the place. Max got impatient and sighed. "All right, idiot. We don't have all freaking day, here." I still saw a slight smile line his face, though.
He grabbed my hand and began to pull me to the counter. My face flushed.
No one was in line, so I ordered right away. "Uh, hi! May I have a pumpkin spice latte, please?" (You can change it if you don't like it.) The coffee guy nodded and put down the information.
Max ordered next. Although, his phrasing wasn't the politest. Oh for God's sake, Y/N. Stop sounding like Shakespeare. The way he said it was just plain awful.
"Gimme a black cappuccino. And make it snappy."
David gave Max the evil eye. That made me snicker. Max glared at me.
"Ahem," David said, his eyes darting back to the monotone coffee shop worker person. I don't know what they're called...oh well. "May I please have a banana shake?"
The worker put the finishing touches on the information screen on the cash register. "What name should I put it under?"
"The Gang!" David replied, smiling idiotically.
I face-palmed and sighed.
"God damn it..," I heard Max say. I removed my hand from my face and saw David staring at Max with a forced smile.
"Max. Language. Please," he said through gritted teeth.
Max rolled his eyes in response.
I pointed to an open booth. "Let's sit down."
David and Max nodded and we waltzed on over there.
We sat down, (Max and I next to each other, and David across from us,) and David's face lit up. (That doesn't sound like a surprise, but it lit up more than usual.)
"Do we even wanna know?" I immediately asked.
David nodded.
Silence. Freaking David. Keeping Max and I in suspense.
"Are you gonna tell us?" Max rolled his eyes.
"I'M GETTING A DOG!" David blurted, covering his mouth afterwards.
Our mouths fell open. "And you didn't think to CONSULT ME FIRST?!" Max yelled, his eye twitching.
"That's a big word for you, mister," I chuckled.
Max rolled his eyes for the thousandth time that day.
"Oh, come on, Max!" David said, his cheerful expression almost unchanging. "It'll be fun! I'm picking him up tomorrow!"
Max was about to protest, but stopped and sighed. "Fine."
David squealed and hugged him over the table. Max scoffed and pushed him away.
"The-" the coffee guy started to call out, but began snickering. "The Gang!" I couldn't blame him. That name was pretty stupid.
Max put his hands up. "David. Go get it. There is no freaking way I'm going up there with that name sitting on my shoulders."
"Same," I agreed, putting my hands up as well.
David looked sad that we wouldn't go with him, but he got our drinks anyways.
Max smirked. "That guy must think David's so weird. I bet he's having a laughing fit right now."
I chuckled and looked to see if he was right.
Sure enough, he was. Actually, more like half right. The coffee dude was biting his lower lip and tears were streaming down his cheeks.
"He's stifling one," I laughed.
Max snickered and leaned back in his booth.
That's when David came back, carrying our beverages. "That man was so nice! He was just as bubbly as me!"
Max bit his lower lip and slammed his fist on the table repeatedly, tears beginning to prick his eyes.
He was trying not to laugh.
That made me laugh. I didn't even try to hide it. I just burst out laughing, and that made Max finally let his laugh out.
I can't even imagine how weird that looked. 2 freaking high-schoolers, dying of laughter at a random coffee shop.
Every time we would stop laughing, we'd look at each other and hysterically start laughing again.
Finally, after about 10 minutes of pure laughing and David watching with an amused expression, it subsided. I grabbed my latte with one hand and clutched my side with the other. "Ow. My side hurts."
Max chuckled and grabbed his coffee as well.
I took a sip and let the pumpkin-pie tasting drink slam my tastebuds.
David took a sip of his banana shake as well. Once he swallowed it, he said to me and Max, "What were you guys laughing at anyway?"
Max smirked as he added sugar to his coffee. "Don't worry about it."
