Jason's P.O.V.

Scotty and Kristen had to leave around midnight to care for Link. Around 1 a.m., the doctor's had informed us that Liza was out of surgery, but David's still in surgery. We agreed to wait in the waiting room while they hooked Liza up to all the machines. Everyone was pretty beaten up and tired, I tried getting them to go home, and no one would, saying they needed to be there.

"Mr. Nash." Calls out Dr. Flowers, "Can I talk to you real quick?" I stand up and follow him around the corner. "What do you want to hear first? The good or bad news."

Oh no. "I guess good news first." I say, expecting the worst.

"Ok, Liza is doing great, she should be awake in about 20 minutes. As for David... he's not doing so great. He's flat-lined, but we managed to get him stable and the blood out of his lungs. We can't seem to find where his lungs were filling from though. We believe that one of his ribs may have punctured the left lung, but if we can't find it, were going to have to close him up, it's dangerous to be on the table for as long as he has. If it comes to it, it's going to be your choice if his parents don't show up. At this point his chances of survival are about 20% if we don't find the puncture. I'm very sorry."

"Thank you Doctor, his parents are on their way from Chicago, so they should be here early morning. When can we see Liza?" I ask, still processing the 20% chance of survival.

"You can see here now, but only three at a time. I will warn you though, she is pretty beat up." D The doctor says, my brain still undecided what to think. Should I be happy that she's alive, or sad that she had to go through this.

"Ok, thank you doctor, her room's still the same, right?" He nods, and I walk back around the corner. "He says we can see Liza now, but only three at a time..."

"I think Gabbie and Jason should go, Gabbie was her first friend her, and Jason's like her second dad." Zane says. "I'll go with Gabbie if she wants."

"Ok, then you guys can decide who goes in next. I guess." I say, Gabbie and Zane following behind me as we enter Liza's room, prepared for the worst.

"Oh my god, Liza." Gabbie says, running over to the bed. Liza's half-white side is really showing as she's pale as a ghost. She has cuts and bruises all over her face and her normally lively curls look dead as they have straightened out. Her leg is in a cast up to her thigh, and and arm has a matching cast.

It hurts to see someone I care so much about in so pain. Especially because I think of her as a daughter. "Mr. Nash?" Dr. Flowers calls out to me, looking worried. "Sorry to interrupt, but I need to speak to you." I nod and walk out to the hall with him.

"What did you need to talk to me about, doc?" I ask, clearly oblivious to his facial expression.

"Mr. Dobrik... he's flat-lined. We found the puncture wound and were working to close it when he flat-lined. We're trying to bring him back, but if we can't... I'm so sorry, but we're loosing him quickly." I nod, trying to keep from crying. Just then, Gabbie comes out of the room.

"Oh hi doc, Liza just woke up. She's asking for David, what do I tell her?" She says, cheery. Out of all the times Liza could've woken up, it had to be now.

"I got this, I'll tell her what I know." I say, following Gabbie back into the room. "Hey Liza, how you doing?"

"Everything hurts, where's David? I need to know if he's ok. Jason? Is he ok?" I can't tell her, I just can't.

"Liza, I don't know how to tell you this, but David's... David's still in the OR. His lungs were filling with blood and they had to get it out, but he's trying his best. I don't want to tell you anything to upset you, Liza." I say solemnly, not meeting her sunken eyes.

"Jason, is my boyfriend dying?" She says, on the verge of visible tears.

I'm about to speak when a doctor rushes in. "Sorry to interrupt, but we need everyone out for a couple of minutes, we need to get Mr. Dobrik hooked up. Fast."

Liza instantly perks up at the sound of his name, we say our goodbye and quickly are whisked out of the room. We return to the waiting area, and wait for the next doctor to tell us what we can do.

Narrator's P.O.V.

A few minutes after sitting down, Liza's parents walk into the ICU ward. They immediately rush to the group asking for new information. Jason fills them in on what they know and Liza's mom, Jean, asks to see her.

"We can't right now, they've just brought David out of surgery and they're setting him up." Jason explains.

"Oh, hows he doing? Can he still propose?" Jean asks right away, bringing light to the grim topic. They all chuckle.

"Not the best, it started out with his lungs filling with blood, and then they couldn't find the puncture wound. Once they found it, he was flat-lining and they didn't think he'd make it. But that kid's strong, and he pulled through." Jason says, ignoring the last question.

"He is, he is. Thank you for being here for them, you have no idea how much this means to us." Liza's dad, Joe, says gratefully.

"Don't mention it, both of them are like my second kids. David's always asking me for advice on Liza, it's pretty funny. He truly loves your daughter, he perks up every time her name is said."

The parents sit and talk for a bit, the rest of the group heading home because they've been in a hospital waiting room for 8 hours. After 20 minutes of being "kicked" out of the room, Dr. Flowers comes out into the waiting room.

"Alright. Mr. Dobrik is all hooked up, you can come in the room now. He should be waking up soon, he's been fighting the anesthesia." Dr. Flowers says, noticing the new couple sitting in the the chairs next to Jason. "Dr. Flowers, pleased to meet you..."

"Joe and Jean Koshy, we're Elizabeth's parents." Joe says, taking Dr. Flowers hand.

"Swell, Elizabeth did great, she should make a full recovery." He leads them into the hallway, giving them all a pre-caution to the couple's condition.

He opens the door, allowing Liza's parents' access to their daughter. Since she was awake, she was able to embrace her parents' presence. Jason walks over to the other side of the room, where David resides. He definitely looks worse, bruises covering most of his exposed skin and the hospital gown didn't quite cover the stitch running down his chest. No doubtingly where they had him opened up on the operating table.

Jason leaves to tend to his own family, feeling bad for leaving his ex-wife with the kids. Soon after, the Dobrik's land and head to the hospital to see their son. Both of them were awake at this point. David was still in pain every time he moved, but overall just happy to be alive with the love of his life by his side, alive as well.

They both posted a picture to their social pages, updating the fans on their conditions, saying there was more to come. Their families stayed by their sides all day, but soon returned to the hotels after nightfall came.

The couple then had time to converse about their experiences with the crash, and how thankful they were to be alive after being told how bad the crash was.

"I love you, David. Thank you for protecting me." Liza says. "Goodnight, bubs."

"I love you, Liza. Goodnight." David says, drifting off to sleep.
