"What the hell David!" Liza yells. "What's your problem?!"
"My problem? My problem? What about your problem?" David retorts. "You're always out late! You say it's filming, but who knows?! You could be out fucking another guy!"

Two Months Later
"Elizabeth!" David yells from downstairs. "Come down here! What is this?!"
"What is what? There's nothing but your dinner that I graciously made for you while you were 'busy'!" Liza counters, coming into view of the stairwell.
"I told you, I needed some extra bits! I'm talking about this piece of shit food!" He points to the meatloaf sitting on the stove, waiting to be eaten.
"God, I wish we were 20 again. When you were actually gracious when I made food for you." Liza says, walking down the stairs to meet her husband of fifteen years.
"Well, we're not and I can't help-" David's voice gets cut off by the door. Isiah, their 6-year old son, ran from his room to his sister's, 13-year old daughter, room, closing the door to block out the sounds.
"What's going on? Why are they yelling?" Isiah asks, sounding innocent and cute.
"Mommy and daddy are just having a little disagreement, that's all. If you want you can hang out with me. We can watch a movie." Jessie says, opening her arms for Isiah.
"Ok, can we watch mommy's movie?" He asks, while Jessie lifts him onto her bed.
"Sure." Jessie opens her laptop, finding the movie as quick as possible as the yelling is growing louder. The movie starts playing as she gets back to doing her homework.
"Jessie, what's that?" Isiah says a couple minutes into the movie, pointing at her notebook.
"This?" He nods. "This is algebra. It's like 2+1, but with the alphabet. Crazy right?"
Isiah nods his head vigorously. "Show me how you do it. I wanna learn." Jessie giggles, and reaches over to pause the movie.
"Ok, so you have these numbers, right? And you need figure out how many numbers this letter can hold. Is the letter strong, or is it weak?"
"The letter is strong! Like daddy!" Isiah yells enthusiastically.
"Daddy is strong, but we don't know if the number is strong. That's what we want to know. So, we need to take this number, 2, and gets it away from the letter x."
"Go away 2, no one likes you!" Isiah yells once again, making Jessie laugh. He laughs too.
"No, Isiah, it doesn't work like that. You have to subtraction, like 2-1, to get the 2 to go away." Jessie explains, Isiah is even more entranced the farther she goes along.
After she finishes explaining, Isiah speaks after realizing what she had said. "Can I try? I wanna find the letter!"
"Sure, Isiah." She reaches over and grabs a spare sheet of notebook paper. On it, she scrawls, 2x-2=12. Easy enough. "Remember, what you do one side, you have to do the other, to make it fair."
He takes the paper and pencil from her hand, following her steps, he completes the equation, getting it correct. Seven.
"Good job, Isiah! You're really smart!" Jessie praises.
"I know! Mommy and daddy are super smart!" Isiah says, yawning. "Jessie, I'm tired."
"You can sleep with me if you want, like a sleepover." Jessie runs her hand through his hair, ruffling it. He nods sleepily, getting under the covers. Soon, his breathing has evened out, alerting Jessie that he is asleep.
A couple of minutes later, Jessie finishes her homework. Clearing off her bed, she soon joins Isiah in slumber. They were both so tired that they didn't notice their parents looking at them through a slight crack in the door. They caught their entire conversation.
