Third-Person P.O.V.
"Liza? Where are you?" David calls out, looking around his best friend's house. He checked her room, office, guest room, living room, laundry room and every other place the tiny person could fit into.
A thought enters his mind, outside. He knew exactly where she would be. At Coachella, they slept in a hammock together after getting totally wasted. Liza became obsessed and then she requested that Kate and Joey put a hammock in her backyard.
Stepping through the sliding glass doors, his suspicions are confirmed. He sees a silver laptop peeking out of the walls of the cream-colored hammock. He opens his mouth to speak but quickly shuts it, wanting to startle her. He remembers promising her that he would stop scaring her as his yearly promise the two have with each other and decides to start following that.
"Liza, I'm here," he calls out. A head pops out of the hammock, a small smile resting on Liza's face.
"Oh, hey. I forgot you were coming over," she replies, her smile growing slightly bigger. "Wanna join me?"
David pauses, knowing this will the closest they have been, while sober, in months. "Uh, sure," he replies, soliciting a giggle from the hammock.
He walks over to the corner of her backyard. Trying not to flip the hammock, he slowly climbs inside. Right up against Liza. She moves her head to rest on his chest and he moves his arm around to hug her shoulders. (a/n im making myself soft.)
"Is this okay?" David asks, still worried about her feelings. He feels a soft nod as she skims through Netflix.
Liza stops at one of their favorite movie, Hercules.
"Is this okay?" Liza asks, mocking David. He just nods, and the "play" button is pressed, starting the movie.
A few minutes in, David's eyes are directed towards the sky. He slowly becomes entranced by the clouds and color changing sky. He removes his phone from his pocket and opens Snapchat, wanting to capture this moment.
He posts the picture, after adding the caption: I have two of the best views right now.
"Nice one, Dobrik," he hears. Looking down at a smiling Liza, he kisses her forehead.
"I'm not lying," he says, the infamous smirk plastered on his face.
Liza just shakes her head and returns to the movie, snuggling further into David's chest as sleep continues to slowly take over her body.

The movie ends and David closes Liza's laptop when he hears soft snores coming from her.
He doesn't want to wake her, but he also doesn't want her not to be comfortable. He decides on the latter option and lightly taps her shoulder and whispers to her, "do you want to sleep here, or go inside?"
"Can we sleep here, like before," Liza answers, in a whisper.
David wasn't that drunk that night back in April, so he remembers himself carrying Liza to the car, and driving her back to the house their friends rented out. He tried to get her up to the room, but she insisted on watching the stars. They climbed into the hammock resting in between two trees on the property and star-gazed, talking random nonsense.
It was those small moments that would also stick with David until death. Those small moments where he truly felt in love, even if it wasn't shown.
"I'm gonna put your laptop inside, want me to plug in your phone?" David questions.
"Nah, I'm good. Can you grab one of my blankets from the living room, please," Liza replies.
"Don't you have one out here?"
"But it's not warm enough," she pleads, drawing out the last word.
"Fine, I'll be back," David turns his back to enter the house and he hears a quiet "thank you" before silence.
Feeling content, he makes his way to her room, where he plugs in the laptop, knowing she'll want it fully charged tomorrow. Slowly, he looks around the room, the memories of them cuddling and simply enjoying each other's company lingering in every corner.
David sighs, "what are we doing?"
He sulks down the stairs, trying to return his mood to the previous as he doesn't want to bother Liza. He grabs her favorite blanket, the brown and white one, and heads back outside.
Liza is looking at the night sky, her eyes glazed over in thought. "Took you long enough," she speaks, finishing with a quiet laugh.
"I couldn't find your laptop charger," he lies, climbing back into the hammock and draping the blanket over them. They return to the same position they were in while watching the movie.
The small woman could tell that he was lying, but decided not to pester him about it. She was pretty sure she knew what it was about, anyway. It's the thing always on both of their minds.
"Good night, Liza," David whispers.
"Good night, David," Liza repeats, "I love you."
David tenses slightly, as he's been the only one saying it for the past couple of months.
But, none-the-less, he repeats it to her as they fall into the land of slumber.
