inspired by a one shot i recently read by DamnDobrikk. i sprinted out of bed at 7 a.m. to find my laptop because i couldn't forget this.

third-person p.o.v.

the door chimes as a young couple walks in, seemingly in love. a pair of eyes shoot towards them, that was him 6 months ago, in love.

fighting an inner battle with himself, he decides to give them some advice. personal experience has proved love to be a pretty fucked up thing. waiting for them to order their coffee and chat.

he slowly rises from his seat and makes his way over to the young couple's table.

"excuse me?" the man asks politely.

"can we help you?" the young woman replies, slightly annoyed, but not showing it.

"this may sound awkward, but can i give you some advice?"

"uh... i guess," the dark-haired boy says, skeptical.

"thank you. i just want to say that you two look young, and if you know that someone is 'the one', let them go. if it is true love, they will find a way back to you eventually, love takes time."

"what makes you say that," the woman says.

"because i left my soulmate 7 months ago, and there's not a day in my life where i don't think about taking him back," he says confidently, knowing he's giving hopefully helping the couple, "i hope you mind me asking, but what are your names? just so i can remember you."

"it's totally fine, i'm david, and this is liza."

"well david and liza, i wish you both the best, and remember, love takes time."
