Ariella’s P.O.V
It was another day, just another day. The phone lines in New Zealand had basically gone down so I couldn’t contact anyone back home.
Luke and I were making up for lost time by not leaving each other’s sides. We had been to the park, the beach, the bowling alley, the café and even the movies with Calum because we needed to hang out too.
The boys were all bummed that they couldn’t go to New Zealand to tour, but as far as I knew, everyone wanted to give Luke and I some space so as soon as the weather cleared out Abbey was going to take Michael, Ashton and Calum over to our ‘homelands’ and take them around. I was fine with this because Luke was going to take me south to a place that Ashton called ‘The Wastelands’ to meet his parents and brothers (finally).
Before I knew it, it was time to take them to the airport. They all seemed excited to get there.
“Do you know where you are staying?” I asked Abbey as Luke drove
“Yeah! I asked my brother and he said my dad is in China on a business trip so we are going to stay at his house. He also said he left the car there so we have transportation,”
“Pretty sweet deal you have going on then,”
“Yeah I guess! Are you nervous to meet Luke’s family?”
“Yes,”
“I’m sure you’ll do fine! I’m pretty sure they will adore you,”
“What? Why would you think that?”
“You’re lovely and pretty; and I’m pretty sure that they would like anyone that Luke genuinely loved,”
“Thanks Abbey,”
“It’s nothing,”
The radio blasted some familiar music as we drove. Not long later it was time to say goodbye to them. It wasn’t a long goodbye, and some fans had shown up to farewell them. The last call rang; Luke and I hugged them all before walking away, heading to the car and slowly making our way to the wastelands.
Abbey’s P.O.V
It had only been a week since the boys got back, but it was declared safe to go to New Zealand. So that’s what I was doing, with three out of five of my best friends; and one of them being my boyfriend, obviously.
I was still getting used to the change; I never thought we would be getting back together. We walked onto the plane and sat down in the middle of the plane seats. We only chose to be seated here because there were four seats and we wouldn’t have to be split into two groups. Michael took the aisle seat and Calum took the other one. I sat next to Michael and Ashton. I looked up at Michael and the thoughts ran through my head ‘how the hell did I end up with you’. He took my hand and looked down at me; I took the chance to look up at his recently dyed purple hair. I was still getting used to seeing the white parts of his hair a dark purple, but it really suited him.
~3 hours later
We landed at the Auckland airport and got everything sorted. Some fans got photos and autographs before we left the airport. My brother met us at the door.
“Hey Abbs,” He said giving me a hug
“Hey, so this is Calum,” I said pointing to Calum and watched as they greeted each other
“And this is Ashton,” I pointed him out and they greeted
“And this is Michael, my boyfriend,” I said. My brother looked at him with a weird look before smiling and shaking his hand. I sighed in relief and got into the car.
We drove off and made small conversation. It had been half an hour and we finally arrived at my dad’s house. My brother unlocked the door for me and let us in. I thanked him and told him I would see him at some point before showing him out and waving goodbye.
“So this is the room Calum can have, and Ashton you can have this room, and then this was my room, so I will share that with Michael, and I guess we are sorted,”
“And nights we spend alone?” Michael said nudging me
“There are hotels in Takapuna, which is like a 10 minute drive from here,”
We went into the lounge and put on some music, opening the back doors to let in some breeze.
“Did you know we played two shows here last year?” Ashton asked
“Yes,” I replied
“But I thought you never liked our band?”
“That’s true,”
“Then how did you know?”
“You toured with One Direction, and I went to a One Direction concert, it was funny actually because I practically begged the friend I was going with to go late so I wouldn’t have to watch the ‘shitty opening band’ but we went just on time to see you guys open, but I bumped into another one of my friends and we walked out when you were singing teenage dream,”
“Did you know any of the songs?”
“I knew teenage dream, and I could recognise Heartbreak Girl from your opening video, oh and I knew the chorus to Beside You,”
The conversation went on for a while and before we knew it is was almost 3am, meaning it was midnight in Australia. We all went to our rooms.
“Sweet dreams guys,” I yelled when I got into the bed
Ashton and Calum both yelled night and I cuddled into Michael, where I would spend the rest of the night.
