Chapter 7
She got up from the dresser and went toward her bed. Her fingers slowly braiding her hairs and then letting them go, her braid fell on her tiny waist. She got into the bed and opened the first drawer of right bed side table and took out a diary. There were 30 similar diaries completely filled which were present in last drawer in her wardrobe.
She turned the pages until she reached today's date and started writing what she could never say aloud.
She had gotten the idea of writing diary from one of her room mate who used to write diary and then exchange it with her bf.
On being asked by a curious Chandhini, the girl confessed that she wrote what she could not say aloud to her bf but she wanted him know her feelings,so she wrote everything down and then gave it to him. Although Chandhini really was not ''dear diary'' type of girl but she tried it because there were things she had to hide.
So, Chandhini started writing too and surprisingly she felt calm and happy after writing her thoughts, it was like some load she was carrying on shoulder was removed.
At first, she had jotted down about the girl she disliked, the teacher she hated, and how much she missed her family and then...then things got more specific.
She started to write down how she missed Advay, how she only got the chance to talk to him on weekend on skype, how she missed her walks with him, how much she liked it when he played songs for her on his guitar and how much she loved him.
It was weird but somehow Chandhini could not think of Advay as she thought about Veer and baba.
But then everyone kept telling her that love someone who loves you, right? So who could love her more than Advay? who would wake up 2 in the night and take her out because she felt like going out? and most importantly, no one would spend 1 million on jewelry, just so that she could stop crying!
The story had been told so many times that sometime she felt like she remembered everything and she did, some small things like ayi's story, tug of war of mangul sutra with Megha di, and Advay tying the mangal sutra.
She knew he probably didn't even remember what he did and she was not going to tell anyone either because it was unintentional, and he had tied only one knot but that one knot was binding her to him. It kept her thoughts firmly on him.
She had tried to get over it, she seriously tried. There were a couple of cute guys she had met on dates belonging to different boarding schools in the area but...but no one smiled like Advay, no one could talk like him, any arm which tried to held her close felt like a prison and not a safe heaven where she could spend rest of her life and most importantly, no one loved her the way Advay did.
They liked her cute face and she knew she had a good body(yes, she had so no point being modest over it!) but she also knew that only Advay loved her despite everything, if she got scarred in an accident or lost a limb, she was sure that Advay will stand by her, he will not leave her because she was no longer beautiful. And she would do same for him.
So, today she held the ball point in her fingers and words oozed out on to the page.
...2 week later...
Chandhini had all her clothes spread in the room and was trying to decide which one to wear to receieve Advay at airport. She wanted to look like a mature, confident women not like a young girl.
She selected 5 different dresses and tried them on and rejected all of them. She looked at herself in the mirror and asked herself miserably,'' Why do I have to be so short?? and why I have common brown hairs? Should have been blonde like mom. Her birth mother was a tall blonde white British but Chandhini seem to have skipped all the genes from her mother''s side.
And why aren't I am allowed to wear short skirts? everyone wears them! short girls look so cute in them.'' She showed her tongue to her image and went down to sit on bed and then again looked at mirror and said,''I guess , there is nothing wrong with being short, its not like he needs to marry some girl so she can easily change the light bulbs'', she blew the bang falling on her eye and flopped down on bed, on top of a suit from valentino, and continued her self talk,''Brown is nice colour, it is suppose to be warm and welcoming and who knows he might be a sucker for girls with brown hairs and if not, I can always dye my hairs.''
Khushi entered and looked around the room. Every surface of the room was covered with clothes, shoes and accessories. All of that was already alarming enough but when she heard Chandhini talking to herself, Khushi let out a big sigh and closed her eyes, this girl! and that's when Chandhini said
''And I can't hurt ayi's feeling by wearing skirt'', she raised her jeans clad leg in air and said,'lets hope he is not a leg guy.''
Khushi loudly said,''Chandhini!''
Chandhini quickly got up or at least tried to one of her hands got entangled on a dress ,she tried to push and found herself lying on floor with Khushi staring down at him.
Khushi,''Who is not leg guy?''
Chandhini blurted out,'Ranveer Singh, I got invitation for premiere of his new movie, so I am going to meet him''
Khushi closed her eyes briefly and then opened them, ''Clean up everything now and come downstairs, baba is waiting for you. You know he always do breakfast with you, when he is home.Hurry up.''
Khushi went to room door, stopped and said,''I don't like this Ranveer guy, but he is a good actor, still not suitable for you.'' she went out closing the door behind her muttering,'' Lord governor will probably burn all the dvds of his movies if he heard about it.''
Chandhini slowly got up massaging her head and looked at herself in the mirror and said,'' that was a close call.'' she looked to ensure the door was closed and then winked at the closed door,''I know ayi, I know who is most suitable.''
