Chapter 27

Chandhini came downstairs still pink cheeked. Khushi and Sheekha noted it but didn't say anything. chandhini went to sheekha and took kavya from her, she hugged the baby closer, somehow it made her feel more calm.

She looked at Kavya who seemed to be about to fall asleep. chandhini rocked the baby. Kavya fell asleep and Sheekha got up from sofa and took her from Chandhini's arm gently, ''I will put her to bed''

chandhini gave a kiss on baby's soft cheeks and Sheekha took her away.

Khushi was sitting on sofa reading some file, probably for some charity donation. chandhini sat down beside Khushi.

'Ayi'' chandhini said.

''hmm'' Khushi replied still reading the file.

Chandhini,''ayi I want to go to Delhi with Advay and I convinced him, so can I go?''

Khushi closed the file and took off her study glasses and put them on table, only then she turned to chandhini and said,''Okay.''

chandhini who was expecting a bit more questioning, smiled, 'so I can really go?''

Khushi nodded in yes, chandhini hugged her,'' yesss, ayi thank you so much, you are world best ayi ever.''

Khushi,''ok, ok stop buttering.''

chandhini grinned,'' ayi can you help me a bit more, please can you ask baba too?''

Khushi,'' ok, I will talk to him but don't start packing until he gives his permission.''

Advay who has just come downstairs ready to go out, heard the last sentence and stopped and said with a smile,'' ayi, I am not running off with her, just taking my wife to live with me.''

He came and dropped a kiss on Khushi's cheek,'' I am going out for a meeting, will be late, bye''

Khushi,'' bye.''

chandhini muttered, 'bye''

Advay paused and looked at her and then softly said, 'bye''

Even after he was gone, chandini kept thinking that there was something different about him when he looked at her, something which seemed off, the look was pure male and filled with things she could not understand, it must be because he is angry or may be because I am feeling guilty she told herself.

later at night, chandini followed Khushi when she took the milk glass to Arnav's room. Arnav who was reading some book in his bed smiled at chandhini as he took the glass from Khushi's hand,''hmm both together, god save my poor soul.''

Khushi hit him on shoulder with her hand, 'see the torture already started'' Arnav teasingly said, chandhini laughed. She sat down on bed near baba's feet and drew circles on sheet with her fingers staring down at bed.
Arnav exchanged a glance with Khushi.

Khushi,''scoot over'' Arnav moved on bed and Khushi sat down on bed.

Khushi looked at chandhini who was still staring at bed, understanding her shyness, Khushi started, and ''Advay is going back to Delhi day after tomorrow.''

Arnav nodded.

Khushi,'' Chandhini's college is starting soon too, so I was thinking that chandhini should get admission in Delhi branch of our college, she can stay with Advay, he is all alone there.''

Arnav seemed to think about it,''Chandhini'' he called.

chandhini looked up,''yes baba''

Arnav,''you want to go?''

chandhini nodded.

''And Advay?'' Arnav asked.

Chandhini,''he has agreed.''

Arnav,'' okay but I want both of you to come here every weekend, no exceptions or I will get really mad at Advay.''

chandhini smiled,''not at me baba?''

Arnav got up and cupped her cheeks in his hand,'' no, I know my bachha can do no wrong, its Advay who is to be blamed.''

chandhini hugged baba, ''true baba.''

''You two stop ganging up on my poor son.'' Khushi jokingly said, both chandhini and Arnav laughed.

chandhini decided to wait for Advay and she did, right until the point his car stopped outside and then she couldn't explain to herself but she ran to her own room and then crawled under the bed covers pretending to be sleep.

She kept waiting to hear his footsteps as he passed outside her room and went to his room but he never came upstairs, where he is, she angrily thought and got up.

After the comment he made at end, he cannot expect me to be waiting in his room, chandhini said to herself. It was only as she was finally struggling to sleep that it came to her mind that Advay had changed his room, so now his room was out of way from hers.

chandhini you idiot, she muttered to herself, you should have stayed downstairs pretending to read something. Now, obviously he was not going to come to her room and she could not go to his. She slept fitfully, so as usual it was noon, when she got up and went downstairs.

After having breakfast, Khushi Called chandhini to her room, and helped her pack her clothes and other essential items, she kept giving instructions to Chandhini, do this, don't do that...chandhini tried to remember all.

After packing the bag, Khushi took chandhini to parlour. Khushi,'' don't go to any place there, you can come here on weekends, I will get you appointments.'' chandhini nodded.

Khushi,''I was talking to Advay, he has servants for everything, so you won't have to do anything, eat your meals on time and don't spend all your time chatting with friends on laptop.'' chandhini nodded mechanically.
