Wedding

Chapter 18

After dinner was finished. advay went back to his room. A few moments later Chandhini knocked and entered his room. Advay ignored her and took out his laptop. He sat on sofa and started reading a project report.

His brain was numb but he simply didn't want to talk to her. Chandhini sat down on floor next to his legs and waited in silence. It was always like this. She went silent if something hurt her or if she did something wrong. In past, he was never able to bear her silence. Today he ignored her.

Time passed slowly. He suddenly felt a light weight against his legs and looked down. Tiny was sleeping with her head leaning against his legs. He sighed. He was really angry at her but seeing her face, all he could think was of tiny baby whom he had taught to walk and talk.

He bent down and picked her in his arms. He carried her to her room and laid her on bed. After covering her with a light blanket, he left the room.

Wedding day

Khushi was quietly sitting on bed staring at her hands when Arnav came out after taking a shower.

Arnav went and sat beside her on bed, ''what happened?''

Khushi,'' Arnav, we did not perform any of the puja's for Advay and chandhini as you decided to get them married on old Murat, now I am feeling worried. We should have waited until chandhini grew up a bit more and Advay has also gone quiet, I haven't seen him smile since he accepted this marriage.''

Arnav took a deep breath and said,''Khushi you are worrying uselessly, everything is going to be okay. We know waiting was not an option because Advay could have changed his decision.''

Khushi,''exactly, we are forcing him to do something and I am not feeling happy about it.''

Arnav, ''it's too late now to have doubts.''

Khushi nodded in exasperation knowing that now everything was out of their hands.

Arnav, 'where is chandhini?''

Khushi,''she is getting ready in her room, Megha is with her.''

Arnav,''okay, we will be leaving within an hour for marriage hall.''

Khushi nodded.

Megha took a critical look at chandhini's make up and said, 'you look really beautiful, so no crying later''

chandhini laughed and replied, 'no way I am going to cry on my wedding day, its start of a new journey and I don't want to spoil it by crying'' she shook her head as she waved her hand in air drying the nail polish.

Megha kissed chandhini on head, 'that's the spirit... tiny'' she added teasingly.

chandhini showed her tongue and said, 'my henna colour is very dark, if I say so myself''

Megha,''yeah, the chemicals ensure that these days.''

chandhini gave her a mock glare and then laughed.

Khushi entered the room at that moment. Her tension melting at watching her kids laughing. She went to chandhini and hugged her, 'my angel is looking very pretty.''

chandhini hugged her back and replied, 'not more than my ayi.''

Megha quickly picked her phone and took their picture, feeling so happy this moment. She felt like dancing. She got up and gave Khushi a hug and said, 'congratulation ayi''.
