Chapter 46

"Doc we have a new group coming in from the east!" One of the watchmen said
"Ok bring them in." Doc. Hanson said
Carter walked into the lobby of the building with Skylar.
"I hope he gets through this." Carter said
"Trust me Carter, he will." Skylar said
Carter kissed Skylar, then Carter walked into the room to talk to Noah.
"How are you feeling." Carter asked
"Better." Noah said
Carter heard the doors open so he walked back into the lobby. A group of three men walked in, the one in front had kinda long hair and a goatee and was wearing a leather jacket. He looked around and his eyes locked on Skylar.
"Skylar?" He asked
"Holy shit it's you Dave. You're alive!" Skylar yelled getting up and hugging the guy.
"You know this guy Skylar?" Carter asked
"Carter.... this is my husband." Skylar said
Carter looked down at the ground and turned around and walked out the front door.
"Hey where are you going?" Jake asked
"I need to take a walk." Carter said
"Who was the guy with the beard and the eyepatch?" Dave asked
"That's Carter Daniel, he's the leader of our small group, his son got shot so we had to come here." Skylar said
Skylar looked out the window and saw Carter walking away.
"Where's he going?" Dave asked
"I'll be back, get yourself situated." Skylar said running out of the door.
Dave followed her as she flagged down Carter.
"Carter stop!" Skylar yelled as she started crying.
"Tell him." Carter said turning around
"Listen Dave, I thought you were dead. I moved on, but now you're back and I...." Skylar said
Dave looked at Carter.
"You fucked my wife?" Dave asked
"Yeah I did. And where were you?" Carter asked
"I was searching for her." Dave said
"Well if you're gonna hit me then hit me." Carter said
"Listen man, I'm not gonna hit you, you didn't know any better and she thought I was dead. If there's a way to, id like to forget about everything and restart." Dave said
"That would be nice." Carter said
Dave stuck his hand out and Carter shook it.
They all walked back to the building and Carter walked into Noah's room.
"Hey Noah, are you awake?" Carter asked
"Yeah dad what's up?" Noah said
"Some guys came and one of them happened to be Skylars husband." Carter said
"So you guys aren't...?" Noah said
"I guess not." Carter said
"That really sucks." Noah said
"Yeah, but you don't have to worry she still loves you and me and her husband are good so we can still all get along." Carter said
Blake walked out of the room and brung Dave in there with him.
"Dave this is Noah, Noah this is Dave." Carter said
"Nice to meet you." Dave said
"Same to you." Noah said
Dave left the room and Skylar came in.
"Listen Skylar...." Carter said before getting cut of by Skylar kissing him.
She winked and then walked back outside.
"I am so confused." Noah said
"Yeah you're not the only one." Carter said
