Y/N's Pov.

The entire town now begins to panic as the guards do their best to keep everyone calm, but I knew that even they were panicking. Link draws his sword, prepared for battle. I look to Link and place a hand on his arm.
"W-Wait Link! This is probably just a big misunderstanding. I know that Vaati wouldn't do something like this." I say, trying to get him to lower his weapon. Link looks at me and narrows his eyes a bit.
"Well then, what do you think he's doing?"
"Please, let me talk to him. I'm sure that this isn't what it looks like." That's what I was hoping anyways... Link sighs and lowers his sword.
"Fine, but I'm coming with you." I shake my head, placing a hand on his shoulder.
"Link, no. This is something I need to do alone." I say as I walk from the castle. I notice Vaati lower his hands and snap his fingers before he reappears down on the ground in front of the town. The guards point their swords at him, but Vaati uses his powers to knock them out of their hands, causing them to step back. Vaati then raises an arm again as the red gem on his cap begins to glow.
"Vaati!" I quickly call out to him, making him stop. I walk out from the town, the guards urging me to step back.
"Get back Princess! It's not safe!"
"No, I'll be okay. Just go back and keep the people calm." I tell them. They hesitate for a moment before I add, "That's an order." The guards then quickly scurry off. I look back to them for a moment before looking to Vaati. He looks back to me, not saying anything. His eyes seemed to have darkened since the last time I saw him. I slowly take a step towards him, a part of me just wanting to rush over and hug him, while the other feels a bit afraid at the moment.

"Vaati..." I say softly, "What's going on? What is all of this?" Vaati looks down, still not saying anything. I take a few more steps towards him until I was standing right in front of him.

"Vaati, please say something. Anything." I beg of him, slowly raising a hand to his face. He then looks up and slaps my hand away, which makes me yelp slightly and pull it back. It didn't hurt, I was just surprised by it. He then starts laughing, but it wasn't a friendly laugh... It sounded evil and menacing...
"Vaati?" I ask, a confused and worried look on my face. He then looks up at me. His red eyes no longer seemed kind and gentle. They now appeared sharp and vicious, like that of a predator's.
"You should already know why I'm here." He says, his voice cold and dripping with malice.
"W-What do you mean?" I ask, my voice seeming to weaken a bit. He doesn't say anything at first before a smirk grows on his face, revealing his sharp teeth.
"Do you have any idea what you did to me?" He questions, before continuing, "You broke my heart, you know, when you left with that boy. I loved you will all my heart, and did whatever I could to make you happy, but you still left me. I feel so dead inside now like my heart has stopped. I can no longer feel anything. Anything except anger and sadness." I frown sadly at Vaati's words. I didn't think that me leaving him would hurt him this much...
"Vaati... I'm so sorry. I didn't want to leave you. But I-"
"You don't love me." Vaati finishes. I look up at him and shake my head.
"Vaati, that's not why-"
"Don't bother." He cuts me off again. "You've already hurt me enough. And now, I will take back what should've been mine, and you cannot stop me." He states, his red eyes glowing brightly. My eyes widen and I shake my head in disbelief.
"No..." I whisper as Vaati raises a hand into the air. Suddenly, several tornadoes appear around the town, threatening to destroy it.
"Y/N, get back!" I hear Link's voice come from behind me before he rushes out in front of me to protect me. "I always knew that he was a monster." He states. Vaati's grin widens at that.
"'Monster,' you say? That's a bit of a harsh word. But I suppose that it fits me perfectly!" He says before knocking Link back with a powerful wind strike. My eyes widen as I look to Vaati. Vaati is then engulfed in a dark magic from within his cap. I could hear his laughter turn darker and more threatening. Once the darkness fades away, my eyes widen in fear from what I saw. Vaati looked just like he did in my nightmare. (Chapter 5, if you forgot.)
"Now, this is what a monster should look like." Vaati states, his voice now deeper than before. I shake my head, pinching myself as I hoped that this was just another nightmare.
"N-No! This isn't real! Wake up, Y/N!" I tell myself. Vaati looks at me and lets out a dark chuckle.

"This is no dream, Princess." He speaks. "No. This is a nightmare brought to life."
