Vaati's Pov.
The following few days went much better than when Y/N first arrived at the palace. She had come out of her room more and began to eat again, which made me glad. She also became more friendly to me, avoiding me less and giving me a few smiles whenever she saw me. Her smile made my heart soar, and there was nothing that could make me happier. Except for possibly taking over Hyrule and such, but that's beside the point. Though at times, I would still see Y/N with a frown on her face, which saddened me.
"Y/N, are you alright?" I asked her one day as I entered her room. Y/N was sitting by the window, looking out the sky. She turns her head to me and smiles a bit.
"Hello, Vaati. And no, I'm fine." She says though I could tell that she was lying.
"Y/N, don't lie to me. I know that something is troubling you, and I would like to know what it is." I say as I walk next to her. She doesn't say anything at first before sighing.
"You promise that you won't be angry?" She asks.
"I promise." I respond with a gentle smile on my face.
"I... It's just that... Even though you've been really kind to me, I still feel like a prisoner here... I can't even go outside the castle..." I frown sadly as she says that. I didn't want her going outside the castle because I always had this feeling in me that she might try to run away.
"Y/N, you know that I can't do that..." I tell her sadly. Y/N sighs and nods, looking back out the window. I felt awful and left her room as I pondered on what I should do. I sigh in annoyance as I sit back on my throne.
"All I want is for her to be happy here, but I don't know how!" I say aloud to no one in particular. I look to the side as I notice one of my servants there.
"Master, are you alright?"
"I'm fine." I grumble in turn. The bat flaps over to me.
"I'm not if this information is useful, but I remember hearing how much the Princess likes to takes walks in the garden." I suddenly perked up at what the monster had said and got an idea. I quickly head out to the back of the castle, which had an empty courtyard in it. He sighs, knowing that he could not make a garden in the sky and looks up at his Magic Cap.
"You're suppose to grant wishes, aren't you? Well, I wish that I had the power to create a garden here." I state. Nothing happens at first, and I sigh, starting to lose hope. After a moment though, the center of my cap starts to glow and some clouds in the garden take the shape of flowers. I raise an eyebrow at first, not understanding the purpose of that, before the cloud flowers burst into bloom, turning into real ones. They were like Cloud Flowers. Some trees and plants grew in the courtyard as well. I smile cheerfully like a child before quickly running inside to Y/N's room. I knock on the door.
"Y/N, it's Vaati. May I come in?" I ask.
"Yes, you may." I enter the room once I hear her response, and she looks over to me. "What is it?"
"Come on, I'll show you. But you have to close your eyes." I say as I take Y/N's hand before walking out. Y/N looks at me confused before I also add. "It's a surprise." Y/N nods and closes her eyes. I wave a hand in front of her to make sure that she can't see before I take her out to the back of the castle.
"Can I open them?"
"No, not yet." I say as I lead her to the center of the new garden. "Okay, now." Y/N opens her eyes and gasps as she looks around the Cloud Garden.
"Wha- What is all of this?"
"I know that you felt like a prisoner in my palace for a while, so I decided to make this garden for you. I know it's not like your garden back in Hyrule, but then again, we are in the sky. You may come here whenever you'd like. So, what do you think?" I ask, waiting in anticipation for her answer. Y/N doesn't say anything, just looking around in shock. I frown after a while.
"You don't like it? I'm sorry, I just-" I get cut off by a sudden hug from Y/N.
"Thank you, thank you! I love it so much Vaati!" Y/N exclaims with a cheerful smile on her face as she embraces me. I could feel my face turn at least 50 shades of red (dat reference dou >:3 ).
"Y-Your welcome." I say. I suddenly take notice of a few birds and butterflies that had landed around the garden, which surprised me, since no creature besides monsters had ever come to this garden. I smile and hug Y/N back. This was the first time I had ever been hugged, and I'm glad that it was from Y/N.
