Y/N's Pov.

The sky turned dark. Storms raged. People ran in fear. I stood still, the look of shock and sadness still clouding my face. I couldn't believe what was happening. I collapse on my knees, tears threatening to leave my eyes. I did this... If I hadn't left Vaati, none of this would've happened... My own nightmare came true because of me... Link pulled out his sword and got into a defensive stance, standing in front of me.
"I won't let you hurt her!" He states, glaring at the wind sorcerer. Vaati smirks, his piercing red eyes glowing brightly.
"I wouldn't dream of it." He states, a taint of mockery heard in his voice. Link growls and looks back to me.
"Get out of here."
"But-"
"Now!" I jump a bit as he suddenly raises his voice before nodding and turns around, beginning to run off. I stop for a moment and look back to the two. Vaati then snaps his fingers and the two of them teleport away. My eyes widen as I quickly look around to where they could be before I hear a storm forming on the roof of the castle, and I knew they were there. I didn't know why, but I had to get there. I had to stop the fight to save Link. To save Hyrule. To save Vaati...

Vaati's Pov.

I could feel the darkness waving its way into my heart. I felt it coursing through my body. Soon, I wouldn't be able to feel anything but the darkness within me. It doesn't matter though. Once I kill the Hero, Hyrule will belong to me once and for all. I looked up to the so-called "Hero," laughing morbidly. I raise a hand as the gem on my cap began to glow, summoning dark magic around myself. Link points his sword at me.
"I won't let you terrorize Hyrule any longer!" He states, which only makes me laugh more.
"Really? If you're going to stop me, then who's going to save you?" I question before releasing my spells at him.

Y/N's Pov.

I ran as fast as I could run back to the castle, past the guards, my father, and the people, ignoring their pleas for me to not go up there. I had to stop them. No matter what. As I climbed up the stairs of the castle, I could feel the castle shaking like there was an earthquake. I hold on to the railing as I continue climbing up. I reached the highest floor, finding the spiraling set of stairs that led to the roof of the castle. I could hear the sound of the wind growing louder as I continued heading upward. I reached the final door that kept me from reaching the top, but it was locked. I banged and pushed it as hard as I could, trying to open it. I felt something hit the door from the outside, breaking the lock from there. I quickly push open the door and feel a sudden gust of wind rush past me, as if trying to push me back. I wouldn't let some wind stop me as I pushed forward, holding onto the door for a moment as I adjusted to the sudden amount of wind so that I wouldn't fall. I look ahead, the tears forming in my eyes from the wind blinding my vision. I wipe them away as my eyes widen at what I see ahead of me. Link was wounded and struggling to get back on his feet, while Vaati was still standing, appearing as though he had taken no damage at all. Vaati raises a hand, creating a dark sphere circling around it. I am unable to hear what he says from the powerful winds, but I knew what he was planning to do the moment he pointed it at Link. Without thinking, I quickly run over to them. Time felt like it had slowed at that moment. Vaati shoots the orb as I call out to Link. Just ask the boy in green turns his head to look at me, I push him out of the way of the attack, feeling it hit me instead, shooting right through my chest.

The last words I hear were the two males calling out my name.
