Next morning I found myself smiling in my sleep. I let out a stifling yawn , letting my mouth muscles stretch and make an unusual whale sound. I stretched my arms and legs and felt the warmth of the sunlight touch my face and body. My brown hair was piled onto my soft pillow and my arms resting on my stomach. I got up and rubbed my sour eyes.Slowly I got out of bed, ignoring the fact that I looked like a troll with bad breath and rough hair and I made my way downstairs swiping at the hand rail.
The smell of waffles welcomed me. I love food.
"Morning dad" I mumbled. "Morning" he replied. "You could at least wash your face in the morning and brush your teeth" he suggested. "No thanks" I shook my head causing him to chuckle. Dad was busy flipping away scrumptious waffles.
"So did you find anything in the woods?" He asked curiously while passing me a milk carton. I made a hole in the carton and drank it.
"Yes, I took a picture of a wolf" I answered, proudly. "Well I guess you were right about the wolves then" he said setting the pancakes neatly down on two pearly white plates.
"Yes, I'll show you" I smiled. I rushed back upstairs and walked in to my I swiped my camera off the study table. I ran back downstairs cradling the camera in my arms. "It's here" I announced and waved the gentle device proudly so he could see. The picture was clear. The camera had perfectly captured the soft tint on the wolfs fur making it look gorgeous. "Wow that's some wolf" he exclaimed.
"Alex, I have a business trip for a week" he said with a sad expression on his face. "A week?" I asked with sad eyes. "But I'll be alone in this house" I argued. "I know and I'm really sorry please forgive me but this is work" he pleaded "Well alright" I agreed and and sadly smiled."Okay I'm off, your pancakes are done" he muttered and hugged me tightly. He waved at me and walked out of the door. The door shut behind him. I could hear his footprints getting further and further away. I heard the sound of a car door shutting and the roaring sound of the engine. He was gone.
I quickly freshened up and took out fresh clothes to put on. I brushed my messy hair until it was smooth and on my shoulders. I stripped off my clothes and wore a black shirt, some jeans and my red cloak. I sat down at my table and began eating the fresh pancakes dad had left me.
After I had practically gobbled the pancakes I ran outside closing the front door behind me. The cold air hit me and I felt the freshness of the wind. I gazed upon the large trees that stood before me, they swayed gently in the wind. I walked through them looking around the woods. The sky had turned into a dirty grey colour in the sky. I walked some more feeling the leaves under my feet. The ground was hard against my feet.I looked around my surroundings and the path was familiar. I somehow knew it like the back of my hand. I walked some more until my location was clear. I had been before. Near the clawed tree.
The claw mark was still visible and deep as ever. My palm slithered down the tree to the mark.
I wanted to feel it. As soon as my fingers were about to touch it. I heard a twig break and immediately spun around.I met with the eyes of a wolf. Dark fur trailed from its head to body. Green eyes met mine and stared at me. The wolf wasn't disturbed by me stumbling into it's territory. It looked at me in a weird way. Almost mocking me. I'm guessing this wolf can shift in to a human form also. It wore a slight grin on its face which almost disturbed me. The wolf was different from Chase. Its fur was darker and his eyes were a beautiful light green colour, Nevertheless the creature was beautiful in its own way. I watched as it took a few steps near me. Its eyes eating at my soul.
Suddenly another wolf jumped out of the green bushes. It landed smoothly on its feet with two front feet bending back slightly making a threatening pose. The wolf snarled at the dark wolf. What is going on? I looked at the wolf who practically jumped from nowhere. It was Chase.
Chase looked at me and then back at the other wolf. They both growled at each other. Chase and the wolf stared each other for the slightest movement. Chase tackled the other wolf to the ground. The wolf struggled from i's grasp but wriggled away. The wolf shot back and attacked Chase. Plunging into Chase's shoulder. The wolf sunk his teeth into Chase's shoulder and Chase let out a painful whimper.Blood trickled down his shoulder on to the green grass. Chase shifted back human and let out a shriek from the pain. Cupping the wound with his hand. He wasn't wearing a shirt reavealing, his bare chest and the deep bloody wound.
The dark wolf that bit Chase took a step back. His eyes rolled back wards and his fur disappeared revealing a tall man. He had dark brown hair and light green eyes. His sharp jawline complemented his face. He was tall and broad. He stood angrily staring down at Chase with his nose flaring in disgust. He too was shirtless like Chase revealing his perfect muscle lining and abs trailing down his stomach.
Chase was hurt badly.
I knelt down beside Chase taking a look at his wound. It was a deep round cut on the top of his shoulder. Blood stained the green grass. I ripped a piece off cloth from my red cloak and wrapped it around Chase's shoulder.
"You shouldn't have come here" he spat. "Don't tell me what to do" I snapped, while scowling at him. I was quite shocked at how I answered him back but I did my best not to show it. I was clearly angry.I helped Chase lean on the nearby tree. "Stay away from her, I'm warning you Hunter!" Chase threatened. I turned my head to look back at him. "Try to keep me away" he snickered.
Hunter walked off in to the darkness. I helped Chase get up on his feet. "Should I take you back to your house?" I asked. "No, I don't want the rest of the pack to worry" he refused. "I'll just stay here" he sighed. I got up and looked at him. My red cloth wasn't doing much good.
"You can't stay here, it's not safe I'll take you to the house" I offered. "But.." but before he could finish off I cut in."Just shut up and lets go" I ordered. He remained quiet due to my demanding tone. I helped him up. "So you hurt your foot as well?" I asked. "Yes I think I just sprained it" he answered. I made him put his arm around my neck so I can help him walk.
I shuddered at his touch. He felt abnormally warm a little too warm for my liking. I could still see the slight silhouette of Hunter standing there as I walked off.
We finally arrived at the house. I took out my keys and opened the door. The house was warm and welcoming. "This is it" I smiled. Chase took a look around and smiled a little.
I told him to lay on the sofa and he did as he was told. He put both feet up and clenched his shoulder. I gently took his hand off his shoulder revealing a deep bloody wound. I wiped at it with a piece of tissue. I walked over to the kitchen taking out a white box from the cupboard. I walked back to Chase. I took out the antispeptic bottle and the from the box and carried it to him."Okay this is going to sting a little, feel free to scream if you want" I warned. He chuckled at what I said and brought his shoulder closer.
I put the antispetic on some cotton wool and put it on the wound. Chase let out a shriek and I wrapped a bandage around the wound as quickly as I could. "Done" I informed. Chase let out a sigh of relief."Who was he?" I asked, wiping away the blood. Dad is going to be really curious after he finds blood stains on the sofa. Ok maybe not that curious.
"He's the wolf I was talking to you about. He's the alpha of one of the biggest packs and he's also not the nicest" Chase answered. "Why did you attack him?" I pondered.
"I was trying to protect you" he answered. Who wouldn't be a little flattered if a person gets injured just to protect you? because I certainly felt special. One thing led to another and he ended up with his lips glued to mine. If dad ever walked in to see a shirtless attractive guy on his sofa with me kissing him. He would officially ban me going anywhere alone. He cupped my cheek and the kiss became more passionate. After I realised what I was doing I pulled away. We were left in a very awkward position. You know that situation when you just want to run outside and bury yourself under piles of dirt. Even I wasn't aware that I would end up in this situation."I have to go." Chase said. I nodded and watched him limp to the door but he stopped as soon as he got there. He turned his head and faced me. "Thank you" he murmured and walked out of the door.
This chapter makes me cringe was I really that bad at writing before?
