"I hope I'll get to meet your boyfriend" he said as he stabbed his cake with his fork agressively. Maybe not

"Alex. I have surprise for you" he excitedly murmured. His eyes gleamed with excitement.
"Wait here" he instructed. He put the cake to the side and walked out of the kitchen. He sprinted upstairs. Oblivious to the annoying thud sound of his feet against hard wood.

He shortly rushed back downstairs and eagerly walked to me. A grin stretched from one ear to the other on his face. He held out a large flat white box and handed it to me. A piece of coloured tissue stuck out of the corner. I flipped the lid off and gazed inside.

A small gasp escaped my lips. Inside the box was a metal bow against coloured tissue. My fingers stroked the edge of it as a smile crept on my lips. The metal was cold against my bare fingers.

I used to own a bow and arrow when I was younger, it was a wooden one and I absolutely adored it. I used to take regular archery classes until I had really improved. I remembered my 7- year old self trying to get apples off  a tall apple tree  by firing multiple arrows at it. Then the feeling of victory would overwhelm me as I'd bite at  the apple. It was all fun and games until I broke the arrow due to my own clumsiness. I was devestated.  The bow was a big part of my childhood.

However, this bow was something altogether. For one thing it was highly advanced and not the childish bow I had once gotten. It looked like something you would use for hunting and I wouldn't mind doing just that. It had golden streaks running across and it was beautifully done. God, this would have cost a fortune.

Dad handed me the arrow. Just like the bow, the arrow was equally heavy and designed to match the bow with the same golden streaks running across it. "There is a whole bunch of arrows in a box in the basement for you" He said. "Dad, I dont know what to say?" I muttered. Clutching the arrow in my hand. "Thank you so so much!" I excitedly hugged him. He brushed the strands of loose hair off my forehead and petted my head.

"Well come on lets see if you're still good at it like you were before" he ushered me out of the house and walked with me outside. The wind greeted me as I left the comfort of my home. Dad pointed to a fresh green apple hanging from one of the trees.

I put my arrow up and focused on my aim. Putting all my concentration on the apple infront of me. Slowly I pulled back the string and let the arrow the arrow go. It plunged into the core of the apple causing it to fall on the ground."Nicely done!" Dad commented. I walked towards the injured apple and bit it.

I remembered the sweet taste of victory.

Hey Readers.
Sorry for this boring chapter. I know there isn't much to it regarding the fact of alex's gift.
But this gift will help her in the future chapters. There is still a whole  lot more coming your way.
I know I don't have proper readers yet, but I think judging by my reads It's slowly getting there.
Also I have added a few more stuff to some of the chapters before which is a crucial  part for the upcoming chapters, as they will be mentioned again.
