It's been a few days since my birthday and everything was neutral. I haven't seen Hunter for a few days now. Not that I mind. It's just strange for someone who annoys you to somehow stop like that, without reason. I've been out a couple of times with Chase, but suddenly he seems so distant. It's not like him to be like that. but I chose not to say anything. It's probably just a one time thing. I have however been talking to Brooke a lot for the past few days. After telling her about Hunter our bond has really grown.

I finally know what it feels like to have a friend. A friend you can trust and love like a sister. It feels great.

I woke up with the sound of my phone going off, and the blazing sun peeking through the blinds of my window. I gently blew the loose strands of hair off my face. Then finally made an effort to sit up.

I rubbed my eyes, then stretched my hand to reach for my phone. I couldn't reach for my phone yet I made the effort to lean forward and in an attempt to grab my phone I ended being tossed out of bed and greeting the cold, hard ground.

I got up and took my phone in my hand. I had received a message from Brooke. I couldn't help but smile. It felt great to finally fit in somewhere. To go somewhere where people talk to, smile at you. The woods isn't the best place but it's still a place I can call home.

I let out a tired grunt and got out of bed once more. The floor was cold and hard against my feet.

I rubbed my heels against it. Feeling the cold graze against my feet. I walked over to my closet and pulled out random clothes until my phone buzzed again. I knelt down onto the floor and grabbed my phone.

There was a new message from Brooke. Chase's behaviour was really bugging me and I simply had to ask Brooke but no avail, Brooke was as clueless as me at to why this sudden change took place. I decided to ignore it. What's the worst that can happen?

I put my phone away, and got back to picking out what to wear. I took out my dark jeans and a grey sweatshirt.

I grabbed my bow and arrow, and my red cloak and rushed downstairs into the living room.

"Hey dad" I greeted as I hurriedly slipped on my red cloak.

"Hey, how's Chase?" He asked. After I had talked to Brooke the day on my birthday. I had invited Chase over to meet my dad and surprisingly, My dad liked him. They talked quite a lot and dad is very fond of him.

"He's fine" I replied.

"I'm going out, I'll see you later"

"Okay, don't be to long" He instructed, and I put my cloak hood on my head and ambled out of the house.

The cold air hit me, causing me to wrap myself in my cloak. I clutched on to my bow and arrow and made my way towards the woods. Birds chirped soothing tunes with a steady rhythm while the sun peeked through the clouds. I watched with mere fascination. I let my hair fall onto my shoulders feeling the air go through it.

I scraped my fingers across each tree, carefully stepping over leaves and broken branches. The sky was a dirty blue colour with blobs of white cotton floating in mid-air.

I came across the clawed tree. The markings were still perfectly visible. I always have an urge to run my fingers across it, to feel the bark beneath my finger. I knelt down on my knees and felt the markings under my fingers. I always adore claw mark of animals. They appear in pure perfection. I heard a twig break and I spun around to meet a familiar pair of eyes.

Oh life. You enjoy hurting me

I blinked as I recognised blue eyes staring deeply at me.

"Alex, I need to talk to you" He muttered, and walked closer so that he was in front of me.
