Hunters POV

I rubbed my eyes slowly, the blinding light managed to sneak into my room through the creases of my curtains. I squinted from the impact. I got up, and took a minute to adjust to the light. It was quite sunny for winter. But it felt somewhat good. As always, my heart ached. My wolf yearned. All for one thing.

Alex. Only she could remove the pain she once created. But of course such a thing can remain a dream.

My stomach grumbled and moaned, practically begging me to feed it. Yet I didn't feel the need to eat. Or live by that fact but I can't give up now. Not until Alex and Ruben are finally a together. I don't need Ruben's help. I'm capable of doing it all on my own.

I quickly scooped out a random t-shirt from the pile of clothes lying carelessly on the floor. I pulled it on without hesitation and walked out of my room. As always mornings in this household are fairly busy and loud. Kids scurrying around. Mothers searching rooms to find their kids. Men gathered with their friends. Teenage girls squealing over men. I walked slowly, while fiddling with my right sleeve. As I walked I earned a few bows of heads from the group of beta's in the hallway. Yet oddly they looked at me weirdly. Which I couldn't quite explain. It looks like a mixture of astonishment and guilt of some sort. Which is weird because when it comes to the bubbly and humerous beta's there is no guilt and sadness. Ever.

I furrowed my eyebrows but shook my thoughts off. I entered the kitchen and sat at one of the seats near the kitchen counter. As soon as I entered it the kitchen went awkwardly silent. I looked around cautiously and earned a few bows and odd looks. Something was definitely up. But I'll found out later after I please my dying stomach.

"Morning Alpha" Lilly greeted. Lilly was our maid, as you might call it. But she was also our nurse because she looked after us. She has raised me ever since I was a child. She's like a mother to me. "Morning lilly" I greeted. She has soft brown chocolate hair pulled into a bun with silver strands escaping from her tied hair.Light wrinkles formed on her innocent face as she smiled at me warmly. She made me breakfast as she always does but the constant stares were endless. I leaned forward so that I was near lilly.

"Lilly, why are they all staring at me?" I whispered. She shook her head. "I don't know" she answered. She went back to cleaning dishes. I turned once more to face everyone. They seemed to notice me and soon went back to their chatting.

Lucas and Daniel entered the kitchen after a short while and started to have their breakfast. They both bowed their heads at the sight of me. Yet they strangely looked suspicious as the others. "Do you know why everyone is acting weird?" I asked. "What do you mean weird?" Daniel asked. "As in they have been staring at me ever since I've left my room. Do I have something on my face?" I asked. Daniel shook his head."No you don't have anything on your face. It's probably nothing" Lucas shrugged.

I was used to stares most of the time. It's natural for the wolves to give the alpha attention more than needed. But the way they looked at me. Just didn't seem right. It was a mixture of shock, curiosity and...guilt? But why? I chose to ignore it.

I got up from my seat and walked out of the door. "Where are you going?" Lucas asked. "Out" I replied and walked off without giving him a second glance. I don't know where I'm going but I'll figure it out somehow. As I left I grabbed my long coat from the hangers near the front door. I slipped it on and stepped outside. How months have passed from the warmth of summer to now winter in such a flash that I can't recall feeling the change of weather. Not that I held anything against the chill of winter, I happened to admire it rather than months of sweaty weather in summer.

The chilled air welcomed my face  as I walked through the woods once more. I needed time to think. Somewhere alone. So I let my feet guide me, I didn't think about where I was going. My feet lead my further into the heart of the wood. Where I will hopefully find time alone and amazingly it lead me directly to the place I loved going. The frost fairy river.
