After Jian Chen had returned with a small stack of books, he started to set up his bed and desk area while Yu Ming and Xi Jun logged onto their laptops.

Sitting on his bed reading, An Lian noted that Jian Chen was very meticulous in the way he organised his things.

We should probably take caution to not let the dorm room get too messy again.

Jian Chen feeling someones gaze on him looked up and met up with a pair of soft brown eyes.

An Lian realising he had gotten lost in thought and caught staring, quickly cast down his eyes to read his textbook.

"There's a new update in Red Dragon Quest, should we update now? The internet has been pretty good these past few days." Xi Jun mumbled from behind his laptop.

The school provides internet for students living in the dormitory building, but the quality and connection varies depending on many factors. Luckily this last week, as students have been going home to visit their families for winter break, the internet has been quite good.

"I've already updated mine this morning, it only took ten minutes." Yu Ming replied.

Unexpectedly, Jian Chen chimed in: "You play Red Dragon Quest?"

"Huh, you play too? What are the chances! Let's play together!" Xi Jun enthusiastically shouted after hearing Jian Chen knows the game too.

Jian Chen looked back to his desk he was organising: "I've heard of it..."

"Great! We can all play together, don't worry your big brother Jun will teach you how to play just follow me!" Xi Jun exclaimed.

Big brother Jun... Hahaha, that doesn't sound right at all. Clearly Jian Chen is the bigger one here. An Lian thought to himself.

"An Lian don't think you can just hide behind your textbook, you're playing too." Xi Jun added.

"Playing... Red Dragon Quest? I don't know how, do I have too?" An Lian replied.

I haven't played an online game in so long, they will definitely make fun of my abilities.

"It's okay, Jian Chen doesn't know how to play either, plus it's not like there are exams to study for right now so don't even try that excuse." Xi Jun smugly replied.

"I guess..." An Lian reluctantly said.

It's just for one night anyway, I have nothing to do right now so it should be fine.

Xi Jun quickly helped An Lian install the game on his laptop and make his character.

Since An Lian did not think he would continue to play this game after today he did not purchase a subscription and went with the 'beta' version.

In this version, An Lian could only create two characters – one male, one female. Apart from some other restrictions in the game, the beta version gives the player access to the basic game features.

Naturally, An Lian created a male character and chose the warrior class.

Warrior that's just hitting things with a sword, right? I can manage that...

As it turns out it was a bit more complicated than that.

"Xiao Lian, you need to move you're standing in the middle of the battle and attracting all the monsters to you!!! Look your blood bar is already almost empty." Xi Jun exclaimed.

"Even Jian Chen knows not to do this!"

Well I did say I didn't know how to play...

After a rough beginning, An Lian slowly started to get a hang of the games controls.

Putting aside my ability, this game is actually quite pretty. Playing online games I feel like I'm in middle school again.

The starting village where An Lian and Jian Chen spawned was on a mountain and over-looked the rest of the world. It was quite a spectacular sight! Really makes one want to continue playing to explore the continent.

Xi Jun told An Lian bits of information about the game as they played. Such as that this was only the starting continent and there were others to explore as you level up. Although as An Lian didn't have a subscription he did not have access to the full game and was bound to this continent.

"I think I'll stop playing for now." Jian Chen bluntly stated.

"Already? Do you not like the game?" Xi Jun asked.

"I'm not really the type to play online games. I have other things to do now." Jian Chen replied.

"Okay then..." Damn, I was really hoping to become closer to Jian Chen this way... I guess the star of the running team and number one bachelor has better things to do then play games... Xi Jun thought.

Little did anyone know that after logging off on the account he just played with, Jian Chen logged onto his real account.

An Lian also logged off shortly after stating he was "tired and wanted to go to bed".
