Chapter 24: Hubby to the rescue

Jian Chen sat dazed in his chair.

He was looking over at the boy sitting in the desk opposite his in wonder.

All this time, it's been you?

Everything lined up in Jian Chen's mind.

The two set off to continue their questing, but Jian Chen could not look at Little Flower the same.

Shortly after the two got online, other players saw them together and talking started. Of course, the guild got wind of this information and confronted the two.

{Guild} Momomo: Hey! Why did you just leave like that Little Flower...? I thought we were friends. Wuwuwu TOT.

An Lian informed the guild on what happened and his gender- well, rather Storm informed them, because Little Flower was a bit shy...

To An Lian's surprise, no one seemed to mind. They even joked about it...

They played together for another few hours before Jian Chen brought up something on his mind.

Jian Chen watched in amusement from across the room as An Lian's face changed and went slightly pink with embarrassment and shock.

{Private message} Little Flower: !!! Hey hey, I'm a man now!

{Private message} Raging Storm: ...

{Private message} Little Flower: ...

{Private message} Raging Storm: I still want to marry you.

Jian Chen: Ah...

Jian Chen, once again, looked up at An Lian siting opposite him. He really wanted to say something, but decided against it – there would be a time and place for that.

Jian Chen already knew what kind of person An Lian was, and how he would react. He would most likely run away if he was not eased into the truth.

So he left it at that.

He knew An Lian wouldn't stay away for long after all.

The next morning, An Lian woke up later than usual.

He didn't have class until around midday so he spent most of the morning studying.

His lecture went by smoothly, but An Lian's peaceful day did not last.

While he was walking to the library to relax and revise his notes he ran into the worst possible person.

"It's you again, I've been looking for you!" Meng Ying hissed at an unexpecting An Lian.

"So you're An Lian right. I've looked at your record – you have the nerve to insult me with your background!?"

This time, no one was coming to save An Lian.

"You even got Jian Chen to pity you! You really are something huh!?"

He stood, with his head down, and listened to the girl's verbal abuse for a long time until she eventually got bored and walked away, flipping her hair in the process.
