Chapter 5: A Date?

A little while after sitting down in his seat, An Lian was already bored with the lecture. The professor had a habit of making even the most interesting topics send him to sleep. Since An Lian had already revised the notes for this lecture he decided to tune out and log into Red Dragon Quest.

After he logged on he noticed Raging Storm was also online as his name popped up in a system notification.

Currently Online: Raging Storm

{Private message} Raging Storm: You're online?

{Private message} Little Flower: Yes, just for a little while.

{Private message} Raging Storm: Do you want help with quests? I'm collecting tiger fangs in this area.

Little to An Lian's knowledge, this was a plain lie. In fact, the second Jian Chen got the notification that Little Flower was online he dropped everything to fly to the low-level continent.

Jian Chen doesn't really know why – but something about this little girl makes him want to help her. After playing this game for many years, and becoming #1 on the server, Jian Chen has encountered many female players and they all have the same objective.

However, from the beginning this little Spirit master has not given him the same impression as those other girls – She doesn't ask for rare pets and gold, she doesn't hassle him to pay attention to her or try to use his status for her own benefit. If he could describe her in one word he would say: well-behaved.

After getting the notification that 'Little Flower is now online', Jian Chen felt his heartbeat quicken with excitement – something he had not felt in a long time. Because now he has something to do in the game again – teach this player everything he knew and guide them to level up.

Since Little Flower had said she can't stay long, and neither could Raging Storm as he was also in class, the two just explored the new town Little Flower had just entered.

Raging Storm made sure to show Little Flower where the best item vendors were and things like the bank and such. While showing her* around Raging Storm attracted some attention.

*(Little Flower A/N sorry for the confusion – remember Jian Chen thinks Little Flower is a girl still so when referring to the character I'll use 'her')

Lulu: AH! Raging Storm is that you, what are you doing in this town? Who is that girl you're with?!

Momomo: So this is where you went? I just happened to be passing by and saw the commotion in the world chat. Tell me Raging Storm what are you doing here!?

Momomo: Let's finish the dungeon! You just left! And what's this - you're showing a girl around... My my I have a lot to tell the guild when I get back!

Seeing this, An Lian felt a bit flustered.

Ah, what is this situation... It's not like Raging Storm is having an affair, I should clear things up.

Little Flower: Actually, it's more like we both came across each other in the same area so Raging Storm offered to show me where the vendor is...

Momomo: ......

{Private message} Little Flower: I'm logging out now

{Private message} Raging Storm: Okay

With five minutes left to go in the lecture both Jian Chen and An Lian turned off their laptops and listened to the last few bits of information from the professor.

Meanwhile from behind Jian Chen a certain someone's brain is working overtime.

Ru Lan: Red Dragon Quest... hmm, looks like I'm making an account too. I must take every opportunity to bring them together! But first I must investigate more about my new top and bottom pair.

Once class ended An Lian made his way back to the dormitory by himself.

Looks like Jian Chen has club activities now.

Just as he was entering the room, Xi Jun and Yu Ming were leaving for their first class of the day. This meant An Lian was all alone in the dorm. He used this time to prepare for his next lectures. Both Xi Jun and Yu Ming returned before Jian Chen and sat down at their laptops.

Xi Jun: "An Lian have you been here alone all day?"

An Lian replied, "Yes, Jian Chen hasn't returned I've just been studying."

"Studying? How boring... I'll tell you this An Lian, you should get yourself a girlfriend, then you won't be bored anymore! Also other benefits..." Xi Jun added.

An Lian: "I'm not bored."

Xi Jun: "Yeah yeah, that's what they all say, secretly you're craving another's touch right!"

Just as Xi Jun said this, Jian Chen returned.

"Who's craving another's touch?" Jian Chen questioned.

An Lian's face immediately went beet red.

Xi Jun I'll really kill you this time!!!

"We were just talking about An Lian's love life. What do you think, someone as cute as An Lian getting a girlfriend? To beat An Lian she would have to be extremely cute right! Otherwise people might mistake who the girl in the relationship is. Hahaha-" Xi Jun was cut-off by An Lian.

"Xi Jun stop talking nonsense!"

Completely ignoring An Lian, Xi Jun continued, "Jian Chen, you have a girlfriend right? I heard you were dating the prettiest girl in school – Meng Ying. You really are fortunate!"

Jian Chen looked confused for a moment: "I'm not dating anyone, where did these rumours come from?"

"WHAT? Our number one most attractive guy is also suffering from blue balls*? Don't worry big brother Jun will help!"

*not having sex... lol

Xi Jun continued: "How about this – I know two pretty girls that are currently single, I'll set you up for a double date!"

Xi Jun was beaming apparently happy with himself, while An Lian had his head down trying to conceal his red face - distracting himself by fidgeting with his hands.

Jian Chen looked at Xi Jun with an indifferent look before glancing at An Lian and feeling his heart soften.

This boy really has no experience with girls, he looks really nervous, how cute.

Meanwhile, An Lian was thinking to himself, Xi Jun why do you have to bring these things up in front of Jian Chen! Oh God, I'm so embarrassed I could die.

"Okay, I'll go. If An Lian goes." Jian Chen said after a brief moment of silence.

An Lian looked up.

What, really? He wants to go... why do I feel obliged to go too now... How do I get myself into these things, I just want to stay home and study.

Jian Chen was thinking: I'll help An Lian become more confident with girls.
