Jian Chen was speechless.

How could I be so careless!?

Where is An Lian? Don't tell me it scared him so much he ran away...

Jian Chen saw that An Lian's regular coat was gone, but his wallet remained. Jian Chen remembered he could call him.

Slightly nervous, Jian Chen dialled An Lian's number.

*Beep*

He actually hung up my call!?

This confirmed Jian Chen's worst fear – An Lian was avoiding him.

The fact that that An Lian brought his phone was a relief for Jian Chen, at least he could call someone if he was in trouble. Also, An Lian's number could be tracked.

Jian Chen immediately called some people in his contacts.

Not ten minutes later, Jian Chen had a location, and surprisingly, it was somewhere in this building!

They couldn't pinpoint exactly, but An Lian, or at least his phone, was still nearby. And it didn't seem to be moving.

He didn't drop it right?

The location was a bit strange to Jian Chen, it was nothing significant, which made him fear An Lian really did drop his phone.

But I only just called him?

Then, he suddenly had an idea.

If I think about him being on one of the floors it's strange as it would be somewhere in someone else's room. But what if he went up? To the roof perhaps.

The roof was closed off to students, but many knew the lock had long broken and no one checked up there anyway. During summer it was a popular place for students to hang out during the night, but during winter barely anyone went up there.

Jian Chen put on his coat again and left, heading up the stairs to the roof entrance.

-------

An Lian had been sitting on the roof for just over twenty minutes. He was afraid to leave out the building in case he ran into Jian Chen, so he went up.

An Lian suspected no one would be up here and he was right.

The ground was blanketed with a thin layer of snow which An Lian happily sat on.

Running his fingers along the ground drawing patterns, An Lian thought about his current situation.

He didn't feel disgusted by Jian Chen, somewhere in his heart he was glad Storm turned out to be Jian Chen. An Lian was simply too embarrassed.

He feared now that he knew, they would never be able to go back to the way things were before. He wished he never saw that message...

Wait... does that mean Jian Chen also likes me in that way?

An Lian blushed deeply at the thought.

Jian Chen had always been good to him... But An Lian just brushed it off as a brotherly type of affection.

Ahhh, I really don't want to think about it!

Despite the weather, there was no room for cold on An Lian's burning face.

An Lian wasn't sad or angry – just a bit overwhelmed.

He snapped out of his thoughts as he heard a door slam open behind him. There in the doorway stood the root of his emotional turmoil – Jian Chen.
