An Lian left the dorm to make his way to the bus stop. It was, if possible, even colder today, the snow lay thick on the ground and An Lian barely made it to the bus stop. Hopefully the bus would not have too many problems. He didn't want to deal with an even angrier aunt...

When the bus did arrive, An Lian got on once again and payed the fee.

At least, if I go to my aunt's house I can try to take some food so I don't have to spend any money today.

The trip was fairly uneventful and before he knew it, An Lian had arrived. He entered the house and took off his large coat.

"An Lian is that you? Come here."

An Lian heard his aunt's voice and went to the kitchen.

"We've been thinking lately, the cost of living so close to the city is simply too high. We have family living further out in farm houses paying a fraction of the cost for living!"

"We haven't decided yet, but this will likely happen soon. But that's not the reason you're here, I'm having guests over today and it's vital I impress them! So I want you to prepare everything for dinner, me and your cousins are going out to buy clothes, we will be back in the evening."

"But aunt, I have classes today, and if we move won't I-"

"Yes yes, just get on with it we have to go now."

And with that his aunt left.

An Lian walked to the kitchen and stood there.

Why should I have to make everything? I barely even live here!

But An Lian knew, if he didn't do as his aunt asked, things would be a lot worse. So he got started cooking.

One day, I'll be cooking for someone I love and we will have a happy family...

Quietly, a tear rolled down An Lian's cheek.

Ah someone must be cutting onions...haha...

An Lian quickly wiped it away and got started.

Evening quickly approached and An Lian was still working. His aunt and cousins had returned and were going through the things they bought.

"An Lian, come set the table and bring the food out." His aunt yelled from the dining room.

An Lian brought the dishes out one by one while his younger cousins just ran around.

As he was bringing out a large tray of marinated chicken, one of his cousins ran in his way, causing him to stumble and trip – the food splattering everywhere, including on his cousin's new clothes.

His cousin screamed and cried immediately, and An Lian's aunt came rushing over.

"W-what happened here... AH the new dress!" An Lian's aunt looked up at An Lian her face starting to go red with anger – she was about to snap.

"I-I'm s-sorry-"An Lian started saying his voice breaking. He backed up a few steps.

"You! Good for nothing waste of space, look what you've done now!"

An Lian's uncle also came to see what the noise was, "No wonder we were dumped with you! Your own parents did not even want you, now all you do is cause trouble for us. You take our money instead of finding work!"

The doorbell rang and everyone went silent.

"Who's going to clean up this mess huh!? Just get out of my sight!"
