chapter 13: morning walks

"Choi Yeri"

"Eh?" i ask squinting my eyes to be able to see the person calling me. Sooji unnie?

"Sooji unnie?" she smiled. "why unnie?" i asked wondering what she needed from me this early in the morning. "kid, you have been sleeping for thousands of hours, are you feeling better now?" she sweetly said. Her voice was so calming and relaxing, i swear i could listen to it 24/7.

I nodded my head. "Ne, thanks to you guys." i smiled. "no problem Ri." she messed my hair up. "let's eat?" i asked her and she reached her hand out to help me for support. I gladly took it and thanked her. We headed downstairs and saw the other girls already sitting in the dining table. "good morning yeri! feeling better?" unnie Bea asked me. I smiled and nodded. They told me to sit down and i did.

We ate our breakfast full of chit chat as usual. Then i told them that i would be heading out for a while to have my morning walk. I always enjoyed walking around in the morning ever since we were trainees, but got busy because of our work. But, i am very happy to have this opportunity today, since pd-nim gave us a free day. Walking just made me calm and relaxed. It helps me clear out my problems every single time.

I wore my sweatpants and a sweater since it was pretty cold outside. I wore my shoes and went out. Shit. It was colder than expected. I still continued walking though, since i really wanted to do it. I just went wherever my feet would take me. I felt SO cold btw,( it's so ice ice, baby. )

So i stopped at the street where no one was and tried to collect warmth. I wanted to go home so badly but i didn't realize that i already walked so far that i couldn't remember where the way home was. Nice. I just stood there not knowing what to do.

"hey, why are you here alone?" i got startled. Minghao? He looked so cute with that thick jacket though, i was really jealous. He looked worried, yet confused. "Oh, i just had my morning walk. I used to do it everyday, when we were trainees." i explained. He nodded. "take this. you look really cold." i tried to stop him from giving the jacket to me since he looked comfy af but he gave it.

"thank you, i was really cold." i laughed. He nodded and laughed too. "i know, it was obvious hehe."

We decided to not go home yet but instead, we went to a nearby cafe. We went inside and the aroma of the coffee woke me up. It was a small but cute cafe. There were some couples inside. Some old ones and some teens.

"good morning lovebirds! May i take your order?" a cheerful small girl greeted us. I blushed because she thought me and minghao were a couple. "oh, miss. We're not a couple. We're just friends, hehe." i awkwardly laughed. She apologized and we told her it was fine. I ordered a salted caramel frappuccino and pancakes and minghao ordered tea with waffles.

"so, are you okay now?" he asked me. I nodded my head. "yes, thanks to you guys." he said welcome and smiled. We talked to each other for a bit and got comfortable with each other. He was really nice, like a brother.

"did you know that one time, where seungkwan was waking woozi hyung up and he sang yo ladies~ this is your story-"

"wake up! Wake up, wake up, wa-wake up!" i sang along. Our laughs filled the whole cafe. He kept telling stories about the svt guys and i also told funny stories about eclipse.

We then finished our breakfast and started heading out. "kaja?" minghao asked me. "sure" i shortly replied. I was still wearing his jacket but he didn't mind. We walked together back to our dorm. "thank you again, minghao" i said. "wae?"

"for lending me your jacket, for being here with me, for eating breakfast with me. And the funny stories, haha." i said chuckling a bit and he also followed. "you're welcome" he said and gave a cute smile. I couldn't stop myself from smiling too. We finally reached the dorm and separated ways. We waved eachother goodbye and i went inside. "see you later"
"see you".

"i'm home~" i sang. "welcome back" unnie mia said. I went straight to my room to change into my normal clothes and went to pledis ent. with the girls to meet with seventeen to record our song. I just wore comfy clothes but still tried to look presentable. I put my hair in a high ponytail and wore a black loose shirt and black ripped jeans.

"hello guys" we entered the room and saw seventeen smiling. "aye yeri!" i heard the8 shout. "ayeee" i said in reply. "are you okay now, yeri?" jeonghan asked me and i said yes. "better than ever" i said smiling.

"should we get started in recording the song?" s.coups asked all of us. We all nodded our head in unison. The first one to sing was going to be seungkwan followed by sooji unnie. Then, seokmin has a duet with hyori unnie. Then me and jun sing the chorus. I felt my palms get sweaty as we rehearsed our parts. Hip hop unit were practicing their raps and performance unit were also practicing their singing as well as vocal unit.

"up next, chorus part. may we have wen junhui and choi yeri in here please?" the guy called us and me and jun stood up and went inside. The music started playing and i sang my heart out. Jun also gave his best and not gonna lie, we sounded so good together. We harmonized and it sent chills down my spine. It sounded perfect. Our part ended and we went out.

"you have a beautiful voice, yeri." he said shocking me. I didn't know what to say. "really? thank you. you have a beautiful voice too." i said avoiding eye contact with him. "you really still feel awkward around me, huh? well, i can't really blame my handsomeness so i understand you." he chuckled. O roll my eyes playfully and hit his head. "ow! yah, how can a girl be this strong?" he asked looking annoyed and rubbed his head. "chill, okay? Hahaha. I'm sorry." i said to him. He still didn't look at me.

This kid. "hey, are you on your period bro?" i asked him and laughed at my own remark. He stayed silent and avoided my gaze. Is he really mad?
"alright, i'm sorry okay? why are you so pissed?" i asked also kinda getting annoyed at his attitude. "I GOTCHU HAHAHAHAHA. BRO YOU TOTALLY FELL FOR IT, HUH? WHY WOULD I GET MAD AT SUCH THINGS?! BAHAHAHA." he exclaimed so fucking loudly i wanted to rip my eardrums out. I covered my ears. "YAH CAN YOU PLEASE STFU MY EARS ARE BLEEDING!" i also said shouting at him until we realized that we looked like a bunch of weirdos and laughed our asses out.

Then we realized. We weren't alone. Everybody was looking at us judging us especially vernon aka, memesol. We said sorry to everyone and sat down.
