Race sighed looking at his phone.

Sorry can't come, something came up

It was Valentine's Day and his date just canceled, wonderful. He never met this guy, he was just a friend of a friend. All Race knew is that his name was Rhett, and he actually seemed genuinely interested. They were going to meet at a casual restaurant and see where things went from there. Race scoffed turning off his phone, so much for that. He drummed his fingers on the chair in his apartment, when an idea struck him.

To say Spot was having a bad day would be the understatement of the century. He was going to go on a date with a girl named Beth, whom he had liked for the longest time. They both worked at the same shabby grocery store, and soon enough became friends. But of course luck was not on Spot's side, and she had cancelled. Which really annoyed him, she had simply brushed him off.

He had just left the grocery store and was walking, one hand angrily shoved in his pocket, the other pulling out his phone. Surprised to see a text notification from someone, he quickly checked it.

Race: My date cancelled on me :(

Race: What ever shall I do?

Spot: Mine did too.

Race: Gosh, what's wrong with us?

Spot: Wdym?

Race: Both our dates canceled on us ;-;

Race: Are we not like able or somethin'?

Spot: You're very like able, I'm not

Race: Sure ya are

Spot: Nope

Race: Yep

Spot: Nope

Race: Imma stop ya right there- this won't be an argument you'll win

Spot: Fine

Race: Can we get food and watch a movie thennnn?

Spot: My apartment or yours?

Race: Yours, mine's messy right now

Spot: It's always messy tho

Race: Can it, I'll be over in like 20 minutes sound good?

Spot: Yeah sure, see ya

Spot smiled slightly, shoving his phone back in his pocket. Race always put him in a good mood. Just for a moment, he almost forgot how Beth had canceled on him last minute.

When Spot got to his apartment he realized he forgot one important thing- the food. Race said he'd be over in 20 minutes, about 15 minutes ago. Spot shrugged, pizza it is.

Race was scrambling around his apartment to find a jacket, he wasn't lying when he said it was messy. He finally found one and grinning victoriously, grabbed his phone and ran out the door.

Spot's apartment was pretty close and Race was there in a considerably short amount of time. He ran a hand through his blond hair and knocked on the door. A few moments later, Spot opened and Race immediately cheerfully greeted him.

"Hey buddy chum pal, how's it rolling?" Spot rolled his eyes, "Just peachy." He stepped aside to let Race in, "I just ordered a pizza, hope that's alright." Race nodded as they made they're way to the couch. "Course it's alright, Spotty." Spot grumbled, "I told you not to call me that." Race simply shrugged and sat down on the couch.

"What movie you wanna watch?" Spot asked. Race looked at him, slightly appalled "Is that even a question?" Spot laughed quietly, shaking his head, and looked for Mean Girls in the small stack of DVD's beside the tv. Why Race loved that movie was beyond Spot, but he knew Race well enough to not question it.

Just as Spot was about to hit play, the doorbell rang. "Pizza's here!" Race shouted. "Yeah I know that," Spot said in a slightly teasing tone, causing Race to shoot him a glare. Spot just laughed as he opened the door and payed the delivery man for the pizza.

Time skip

With over the half the movie already done, and the pizza completely finished, Spot couldn't help but doze off a little. Race would nudge him every time he did, mostly to be annoying. Eventually he just let him sleep. Spot's head was rested on Race's shoulder, which he didn't mind. He knew, however, if Spot were awake he wouldn't be caught dead dozing on his friend's shoulder.

Race smiled softly, ruffling Spot's hair causing him to stir slightly. "Happy Valentine's Day," he said quietly.

(A/n- I stayed up late to write this, ur welcome. Also I have reasons for the names. Rhett after Rhett Butler from Gone with the Wind (aka one of my fave books of all time.) And then Beth after Beth Leavel. So yay short, slightly fluffy one shot. Just wait 'till tomorrow ;) Also did ya see what I did there? Mean Girls... Ben Cook?)
