Jack Kelly was a blanket hogger. Everyone knew this. Especially his wife, Katherine. In fact that's how everyone knew, she would often bring it up into conversation. Mostly as a way to tease Jack. Mostly.

It was a Wednesday night, close to eleven, when Jack and Katherine decided to go to bed. Jack yawned as he lifted the sheets up and flopped down on the bed. Katherine just laughed and went to turn the light out. She got into bed and snuggled beside Jack, laying her head on his chest.

"Goodnight, love."

"G'night, my angel."

Katherine woke up and noticed she was significantly colder than when she went to bed. The clock read 2:34am and she almost groaned out loud. She glanced over at Jack who had his back turned to her, with all the blankets. She sighed, slightly amused but mostly annoyed. She started to tug at the blankets, having found a corner. A few minutes later she was somewhat successful, and had gotten most of the blanket out of Jack's grip.

She felt Jack move as he turned around to face her, still half asleep, and put an arm around her waist. He pulled her closer and Katherine smiled lightly. This is new, she thought. Their noses were almost touching and Katherine put her arm across his shoulder. She definitely wasn't cold now. She ran her hand through his messy dark brown hair a couple of times, before finally going back to sleep.

When Katherine woke up again, the first thing she saw was Jack with a peaceful look on his face. Sunlight was streaming in through the blinds, making the cream colored walls much more vibrant. She leaned in and kissed Jack drowsily, causing him to wake up. His brown eyes stared into Katherine's and he smiled a genuine smile. "Good morning." Katherine smiled too, "Yes it is."

Jack's smile soon turned into a smirk, "And why is that?" Katherine rolled her eyes but never wasted a second, "Because I woke up to see the blankets weren't all on your side of the bed." She laughed and Jack's expression, which conveyed pretty well an 'Are you serious?' "And waking up to seeing you as the first thing," she added.

Jack nodded, "What time is it?" Katherine leaned over to check the digital clock on the small bedside table. "9:57," she said. Jack's eyes widened slightly, "Geez we slept late." Now it was Katherine's turn to smirk. "Guess we were both very comfy, hm?" Jack said nothing, but moved his hand from Katherine's waist to the side of her face. He brushed away a piece of her brown hair, which was quite messy, and leaned in to kiss her.

Her lips were slightly chapped, but Jack didn't care. They'd been married for years, but Jack still got tingles every time they kissed. They pulled away and Jack smirked again, "Yeah I was pretty comfy."
