We all stood at the gate of Hilltop, hearts still beating from our previous situation. Maggie stood atop from us, eyes locking with ours. Her smile showed it all, she was ok.

She called for Sasha and went to open the gates.

Rick took her in her arms, “Are you okay?“

Maggie nodded, a grin still evident on her face, “Everything’s fine, the baby’s fine.”

Our prayers were answered as we all relieved a sigh.

Our group met with Sasha and Maggie, hugging and tearing up.

I saw the horror of how Spencer died and how Olivia was shot. Eugene was taken with Negan. It was terrifying. My heart still ached from before but I ignored it and embraced my family to relieve some pain.

Suddenly we all saw it.

Jesus and Daryl came out from behind a medical truck.

My heart pounded in my chest as I ran towards him.

This wasn’t even real.

Was it?

He caught his eyes with mine and dropped to his knees, reaching his arms for me. I pulled him close as we sat on the ground, tear-filled words left his mouth.

"You’re here,” I whispered.

He didn’t say anything but just pulled into him tighter.

It was real.

“Y/N, I love you. I love you,” he kept repeating those words as he kissed my forehead over and over.

My tears mixed in a passionate kiss that we shared before I took him in for another embrace.

“I love you too.”
