(I will be using the characters' first names)

Shuichi lifted the rock up that was on top of him and climbed out. He was greeted by the sight of the brown-haired, red-eyed assassin which he'd grown to be great friends with. She didn't turn around, instead she simply looked up at the sky. They were free.

Shuichi never thought he'd see the day where they would be free.

Suddenly a moaning noise came from underneath another rock. Shuichi turned to face it and looked around but he couldn't see anything. As he looked closer, he saw the tip of Himiko's hat sticking out between a couple of rocks. He instantly darted towards it then started to tear the rocks of it, eventaually seeing Himiko's face.

After some more effort and help from Maki, they finally managed to drag Himiko up out of the rocks and onto the surface.

"You alright?"

"You alright?"

Himiko looked up, slightly fazed. "Nyeh.. I'm okay.."

Shuichi took a deep breath then turned back and looked up at the sky. They were out but had no idea where they were going to go next. Maki walked up alongside him and looked up at the sky with him. After a while of looking up in silence, Maki finally started conversation, "Kaito would have loved to see this. He would of probably said something to inspire us, right?"

Shuichi glanced over at her and caught her eye, "I'm sure he's proud of his sidekicks.. like he always said.."

"The impossible is possible, all you have to do is make it so." Maki and Shuichi exclaimed in unison.

Himiko walked up to them, "Do you think Tenko is in a better place?"

Shuichi looked down at her and took a deep breath, "I'm sure she is."

They had all lost so many people, so many friends. They had all lost people they loved, whether it was friendship-type love or romantic love. They had all lost someone.

Maki took control of the situation, "We need to move away from this academy, it could destruct any second. I think we should move towards the light, is that okay with everyone?"

Himiko and Shuichi nodded their heads then Maki started to walk towards the light at a quick pace. Himiko and Shuichi instantly started walking with her.

They kept on walking for hours, what seemed like hours anyway. They took short breaks every so often but the light was dimming as it was approaching the evening. Shuichi was giving Himiko a piggyback as she was getting too tired to walk any further.

She had fallen asleep on his shoulders but Shuichi and Maki pushed on. They kept on walking until they couldn't see what was ahead of them because it had gotten too dark. "We should stop."

Maki stopped dead in her tracks and turned round to see Shuichi standing still with Himiko on his shoulders. "Stop?"

"We can't see where we are going Maki. I think we should sleep here for the night." Shuichi suggested.

"It's rocks, there is nowhere to rest." Maki fired back.

"I'm tired and Himiko is sound asleep.." Shuichi insisted.

Maki looked at the peaceful Himiko then sighed, "Fine, we'll rest here."

Shuichi smiled supportively then gently lifted Himiko off his shoulders and gently placed her onto the ground. He then took off his blazer and laid it over the sleeping Himiko in order to keep her warm.

Maki lowered herself down and sat on the floor followed by Shuichi who sat down next to her. "Push-ups for old times sake?" She suggested.

"Sounds good." Shuichi replied.

Maki got down onto the floor and completed her 100 push-ups in record time, leaving Shuichi dumbfounded that she could complete the push-ups as quickly as she had demonstrated.

After they had both finished the push-ups, Maki asked a question. "Thirteen people died.. Shuichi, if you could do it all again.. have a second chance to save everyone, would you take it?"

Shuichi didn't know how to respond, "I don't know.. I don't know if I would have enough strength to go through it all again. But to save everyone, yes I would."

"I see."

The two of them didn't speak again and instead just looked up at the pitch black sky.

"I'm going to get some sleep, you should to." Maki explained before getting up, moving to a different spot then lying down.

"Night Maki."

Shuichi couldn't get to sleep. They were out but reality hit, thirteen people.. thirteen people had died. Including Kaito, his best friend.. the only person who got him over Kaede's death and helped him have enough strength to escape the game alive.

He closed his eyes to embrace the silence. After a few moments he could feel something in front of him.

He warily opened his eyes then jumped back in shock at what he saw.

"Hello, please don't be alarmed."

Shuichi didn't say anything and kept backing away from the mysterious pink figure. "What are you?!"

The small figure waddled over then sat on the floor opposite Shuichi, "My name's Monomi, I heard what you and the scary girl were talking about earlier and I want to help you!" She explained cheerfully.

Shuichi stopped backing away and started to listen to the smaller pink bear, "Help me?"

She nodded, "Uh-huh, you said you wanted a second chance to things right, didn't you? Well if you were serious about that, I can make it happen."

Shuichi was frozen, "S-seriously?"

"Mmm hmm, exactly. So, yes or no?" Monomi chimed.

Shuichi turned around to see Maki and Himiko asleep on the rocks then turned back to face the bear. "If I said yes, what would happen?"

"Oooo well, you would be taken back to the beginning of the game and you would do it all again, you will have all your memories and you will be able to foreshadow events but.. some events are set events, meaning that they need to happen and can't be changed. I'll be going with you but don't worry, only you will see and hear me which means if you talk to me, it will look like you're talking to yourself." Monomi explained, "So, is it a no or yes?"

Shuichi took a minute or two to think about everyone who had died then made up his mind.

"Yes."
