'It was a lie! ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ '

Shuichi's hands began to shake erratically as he panicked even more. This was one of Kokichi's catch phrases but the detective knew that Kokichi wouldn't play this sort of trick.. besides, the previous events fell too conveniently into place.

"N.. No..!" He let the note fall from his hands as he let out a pained shout, his anger beginning to show clearly in his voice. He felt tears start to form in his eyes but he quickly wiped them away.

"..I'm going to save you..."

The detective ran out of his room, locking it firmly after him, and sprinted down the corridors towards the dining hall.

Kokichi couldn't be gone, this was a lie, this was a lie.. this was a lie.. this was a lie!

He entered the dining hall, red faced and struggling to breathe. The remaining students looked at him with confused looks but it was Kirumi who spoke to him first.

"Shuichi, are you feeling quite alright?"

His reply was slurred, "I.. gh.. nho.."

"Shuichi, nod if you can hear me." Kirumi instructed, taking ahold of his shoulders.

The detective stumbled backwards but was kept up due to Kirumi supporting him. He looked up at her and quickly nodded before breaking himself away from her and started to count the number of students in the room.

"One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten.."

Ten students, eleven including himself.

There was one person missing.

He stumbled over to Maki, looking at her with desperation written all across his face.

"Maki, I need your help. Now! It's urgent." Shuichi froze as he looked her up and down.

The assassin looked completely normal. She didn't have a cut on her leg, her wrist wasn't distorted.. there was no sign of what he had seen earlier. "What.. what happened? You.. you were injured."

She looked more than confused as she crossed her arms and spoke, "Injured?"

"Yes, I saw you this morning and you had been attacked.. I remem-"

"This is the first time I've seen you today." Maki cut him off before he could finish his sentence.

Her words hit him like a bullet. "No, I saw you this morning.. you were hurt.. someone attacked you and put you in your wardrobe." He looked at directly her, almost beginning to beg her to validate his words.

Maki shook her head but before she could speak, the detective grabbed her wrist, "Y-Your wrist w-was broken.. Maki, I swear that it was broken.."

She grabbed her wrist back from Shuichi then looked directly at him, more concerned than she was originally. "Shuichi, that wasn't me."

Shuichi began pounding the side of his head with his fist. He needed to think. Tsumugi was the only person who could imitate someone else but that was impossible due to her cospox.

Unless.

'It was a lie! ヽ(*≧ω≦)ノ '

His eyes shot open at the realisation.. Maki being injured was the lie.. because she was cosplaying as Maki. Now Tsumugi knew that he knew that she was the mastermind..

And.. how could Kokichi of left the room locked if Shuichi had the key? He could of picked open the lock but.. there was no way of locking it once again.

She had orchestrated this entire thing.

Kokichi was in immense danger.
And Shuichi was now on borrowed time.

The detective turned didn't bother to say another word as he sprinted out of the dining hall. As soon as he left, Tsumugi felt a gentle chuckle escape her lips, a malicious grin following soon afterwards.

It was time to play the mastermind's killing game.

Shuichi didn't think as he blindly ran towards the multiple different classrooms rooms, not thinking clearly at all. He checked each one thoroughly but there still wasn't any luck in finding his lover.

The navy haired boy left the final classroom and struck his fist into the wall. There was no way he could let Kokichi be murdered, he couldn't take it. He had never confessed to Kokichi that he loved him and there was no way he could live with himself if he never told him that he did with all of his heart.

And with that thought, Shuichi felt tears drip down his cheeks. He clenched his hands into fists once again, pulling himself together. He couldn't be this weak if he was going to play Tsumugi's game.

He needed to think rationally and logically like the Ultimate Detective that he was.

If Tsumugi wanted Kokichi dead then she would frame someone else for his murder or trick them into thinking that they had killed him, like she had done with Kaede.

"That means that she's attempting to blame me for this murder.. that was her intention of making me play this game." Shuichi continued to deconstruct Tsumugi's plan. "She was planning on discovering the body with me next to it.. Wait a minute.. that means that the murder has already been set up.. and it's something which could involve a set time.."

He put his hand across his forehead, forcing himself to break apart the plan.

"..What would Tsumugi count as a guaranteed murder which wouldn't need her direct involvement? It couldn't involve another person, that would be too risky for her..  Tsumugi is part of Team Danganronpa so she knows how this game is meant to go.. she knows all the murders.. which one would guarantee a death without taking too many chances, much preparation or relying on someone else other than herself?"

Shuichi went back through each of the murders in his head, crossing each one off as they didn't comply with his criteria.

His eyes shot wide open as the realisation hit him.

No.. no it couldn't be..

Shuichi's entire world fell apart at that moment. The only murder which fitted all of these was the murder of Kokichi Ouma in the hydraulic press.
