Shuichi woke up to the morning light. He rubbed his eyes in order to get them adjusted to the light but they fell closed again.

Suddenly, he heard a knock at the door.

"Who the hell is that?" He murmered to himself, before clawing himself out of his bed and stumbling towards the door, slouching over and dragging his feet along the floor as he walked.

He opened the door. It was Kaede.

"Hello Shuichi! How are you?"

Shuichi had no idea how Kaede was so... awake. He had bags under his eyes and his hair was ruffled and misplaced, he looked like death. Kaede on the other hand, looked happy and glowing, a smile plastered onto her face.

"Just give me.. some time to...wake up.." Shuichi replied, in-between yawns.

"Okay! I'll be in the Dining Hall." Kaede gleamed before strolling off, "See you later Shuichi."

He closed the door then locked it. He walked over to his wardrobe and pulled out his uniform which he got changed into.

He took a deep breath, "Okay, okay, okay.. new start. Forgive him and change things."

"I can do this."

Shuichi picked up his door key, pulled down his hat, and walked out of his room, making sure it was locked after he left.

He managed to make it to the dining room without meeting anyone else. When he opened to door, everyone turned to face him. He was the last one there. "Sorry I'm late."

"Huh, it's fine bro."

Shuichi's face fell. He wasn't ready for this.

He recognised the voice instantly, Shuichi remembers that voice. He wasn't ready for this.. he wasn't ready to talk to Kaito. He could still see his dead body on the floor.

No.

He needed to get these thoughts out of his head. A new start. A second chance. *cough cough* ROLL CREDITS! *cough cough*

Shuichi was about to give a response but he was stopped by Kirumi bringing out the delicious food she always prepared.

"Please, everyone enjoy." Kirumi greeted, her hands neatly folded over her waist.

Everyone sat down. All sixteen students. Shuichi sat at the end of the table, sitting opposite Maki and next to Kaito. He hadn't chosen to sit there, they had just sat near him.

It was weird, seeing Maki so.. distant and Kaito quiet. As the game grew on, they became his closest friends but right now, they weren't even talking. Kaito and Maki were normally arguing like a married couple..

Shuichi eventually managed to eat half of his food before deciding that he couldn't eat anymore. He never used to eat whole portions of food, only bits and pieces.. which he was used to by now.

He thanked Kirumi then left the Dining room.

Today's the day Kaede dies. "I need to make sure things go the same way as last time without making myself seem suspicious. That would be the worst outcome."

I can do this. It will all be okay.

He was snapped out of his trance-like state by Kokichi who was looking at him, a judging expression on his face. "What you thinking about?!"

"Ah!—Uh, nothing." Shuichi replied back, sounding like he had just been caught doing something that he wasn't meant to be doing.

"Didn't seem like nothing!" Kokichi joked, "Ooo! Come on, tell me!"

"It's nothing." Shuichi replied, more sharply than he first intended. Kokichi was taken back slightly but remained to convey his usual expression.

"I'm sorry for snappin--" Shuichi apologised anxiously but was cut off by Kokichi laughing in his face. "Hahahahahahahah!"

Shuichi shook his head, getting rid of the thoughts that Kokichi could actually be serious for a minute. Although Shuichi wanted to start new with everyone, Kokichi was making it extremely hard for him to forget what he had done.

"I was messing with you! Stop taking everything so seriously!" Kokichi interrupted, in a jokey tone.

Shuichi rolled his eyes then attempted to leave but was stopped by Kokichi grabbing his arm. He instantly jerked back, violently clawing Kokichi's arm off him.

Kokichi stared at Shuichi in shock. He wasn't expecting him to react in such an extreme way, he must of done something to cause that kind of reaction.

He opened his mouth to speak but he couldn't say anything, Shuichi walked away before he had the chance.

Kokichi had no idea what had just happened. Was it his fault that Shuichi reacted so strongly? What did he even do? He didn't remember doing anything wrong.. right?

5 hours later.

"I think we should put the cameras here," Kaede gestured, pointing at the top of the bookcase which was near the hidden doorway that they had discovered earlier, "We'll definitely catch the mastermind if we put the cameras there, right Shuichi?!"

"Yeah, should be fine."

Kaede looked down at Shuichi who was leaning against one of the bookcases, "You didn't even look."

Shuichi took a glance up at Kaede, "Yes, that's great."

Kaede reached up and placed the camera on top of the bookcase, careful not to set off the cameras. "There, all set!" She smiled, chirpily.

She climbed down the ladder and walked over to Shuichi, "That should be all of them, now we wait... are you ok?"

Shuichi put on a fake smile, "Uh-huh, I'm fine."

"We're all going to get out of here." Kaede smiled, content with herself, "We should get out of here before we set the cameras off."

Shuichi gripped the controller for the sensor in his hand then followed Kaede out of the room, careful not to trigger any of the sensors.

The next couple of hours went past extremely slowly, Kaede was talking but Shuichi couldn't hear what she was saying.

Suddenly, the sensor went off. Shuichi glared down at it then showed it to Kaede and ran out of the room, giving her time to roll the shot put ball.. which she would think killed Rantaro.

The hardest part of it all was that Kaede didn't really kill Rantaro and she died believing that she was a murderer.

It was Tsumugi.

The mastermind.

But it's done. Rantaro is dead and the killing game has started all over again.

(into the propper story now, the propper OumaSai part. I apologise for all the saimatsu so far, I only see Kaede and Shuichi as friends)
