Shuichi felt his entire body freeze. A body discovery announcement.. that meant that someone was dead. No, maybe it was a nightmare.. he had been having them so often, it wouldn't be strange.
Something about this felt real. No. It had to be a nightmare. The detective started to get up from the floor when suddenly realised that he couldn't move. He looked down to see Kokichi resting his head on his chest.
Last night.. really happened? They had really kissed? Shuichi closed his eyes and thought back to the previous night. Him and Kokichi.. together. It was a dream, something that he never thought would actually happen, came true. A dream is something which you never think will ever come true. A fantasy.. Shuichi's fantasy had come true.
As much as he loved Kokichi and wanted to stay with him like this for the rest of his life, he knew that he had to solve the case.. then maybe after that, him and Kokichi could actually talk about what they actually were to one another.
But when Shuichi opened his eyes, the realisation finally hit him. He suddenly felt sick. Sick to the stomach. He realised that he had done this, he had saved Ryoma but he had killed someone else. It was all his fault.
"Phuhhuhu! Everyone please come to the pool!"
Shuichi clenched his fists, trying to steady his shaking.
"Mm? Shuichi? You're really warm.." The weak voice started him.
Shuichi opened his mouth to speak but he felt himself choking on his words.
The realisation of the body discovery announcement.. he had killed someone.. he had failed everyone. Shuichi covered his mouth as he gagged, instinctively clawing Kokichi off him, just in case he threw up on the smaller boy. He managed to pull himself to his feet and walk forward, stumbling as he attempted to put one foot in front of another.
Kokichi quickly got up off the ground, and ran upto Shuichi, managing to catch him as he fell. "Woahh, you're really heavy Shuichi! What, you drunk or something? Did Miu get some for you? I knew that whore had it somewhere."
"N-No.. body.. announcement.." Shuichi stammered as he spoke.
Kokichi's face fell, seeing the pain that the detective was in. He had gone back to stop the murders, this must of torn his heart in two. Kokichi helped the taller boy to walk forwards the murder scene.
The two of them eventually reached the pool changing rooms. Shuichi reached to open the door but he was stopped by a hand grabbing his arm. Kokichi grabbed him by both shoulders and started shaking him. "Heyyyy Shuichi! Snap out of it already! You're not useful as the Ultimate Detective if you're acting like this!"
Shuichi's entire body started to shake. "I-I.. knew I couldn't stop it..."
Kokichi had no idea how to calm Shuichi down. He knew that he was absolutely useless at stuff like this. He looked up to see tears falling down Shuichi's cheeks, his body starting to shake. "Shuichi! Uhh.. get a hold of yourself!"
Shuichi nodded, desperately attempting to wipe the tears from his eyes. Even though he kept on wiping the tears away, new tears formed even quicker.
Kokichi had no idea how to calm Shuichi down. "Shuichi.. I'm really bad at this.. you're the Ultimate Detective, you can do this.. what's the worst that could of happened?" Kokichi instantly regretted those words as soon as he said them.
Shuichi took a deep breath before giving a weak smile in return. "O-okay.."
Kokichi suddenly felt a rush of relief. He had no idea how he can possibly managed to calm Shuichi did but he had.. somehow.
Shuichi put his hand on the door and opened it, showing the scene.
After everything he had gone through in the first game he thought that he would be prepared but nothing could possibly prepare him for this.
He felt his hands wrap around his head as he felt himself stumble slightly.

Kokichi ran up to him, kneeling down opposite him which a great deal of concern on his face. "Shuichi.. calm down." Kokichi's planted a kiss on his forehead, "You're the Ultimate Detective, if anyone can do this, it's you.. and remember what I told you yesterday?"
Shuichi took a deep breath then nodded.
The smaller boy looked around, just making sure that no one was there, before planting a gentle kiss on the Detective's lips.
Something shot through Shuichi, he needed to solve this murder. He needed to solve it for everyone's sake.. but especially for Kokichi. He was never going to let him go.
The detective pulled himself up from the floor, took a deep breath then walked towards Maki who was standing at the poolside, leaving Kokichi behind him, still standing in the changing rooms.
Maki turned to her side, wanting to see who had just walked up beside her. She scanned the boy up and down before speaking. "It's happened again."
Shuichi took another deep breath. "This is something new. T-This didn't happen in the game I was in.."
Maki turned her head in one swift motion to face him. "What are you saying?"
Shuichi avoided eye contact, "It means that I have no idea where to start.."
Maki kept looking at him until she finally regained eye contact "You can do this. Are you going to start investigating or do you need more time to process this? I know this must be.. more than difficult for you but without your detective work, we are most probably going to die."
"I understand that."
"Do you need more time? I understand if you do."
Shuichi paused before shaking his head, "No, I can't hide from my problems. Nothing gets solved that way. I've finally found someo-something to live for." Shuichi noticed a small smile on Maki's face.
Shuichi smiled back at her before walking closer to the scene. He was going to do this for Kokichi.
