Kaito had no idea how this had even happened to him, last they spoke he had threatened to kill him.. and had him up against by the throat against the wall. Plus, he only knew how to comfort his sidekicks.. not like Shuichi had talked to him much when he said that they should all train together.. he had chosen Shuichi and Maki because they both looked equally as alone in the beginning.

Kokichi may see him as an idiot, someone who couldn't put a string of words together into a sentence.. sure he couldn't exactly say any big words, but he just wasn't one of those clever or academic types.. the thing he did know though, he knew people.

Most importantly, how to help the vulnerable, the weak and the isolated. It was a trait he learnt in astronaut training and it turns out he was a natural at it. All he secretly wanted, deep down, was to make sure that everyone was coping, despite who they were as a person. Never once did he notice that Kokichi was in desperate need of his help or guidance, he'd probably make so much fun of him and wouldn't take it seriously.

He kept hugging the small, purple haired liar who was still openly weeping onto his jacket, but couldn't help himself from getting slightly distracted by the knife that was on the floor. This boy, the one he was supporting, the one who was openly weeping, could have become the blackened.. he was so close to killing Tsumugi, the way he was acting just before he nearly attempted to.. well, kill her, it wasn't normal. It was like his body had been overcome with a type of twisted sensation of euphoria.

"Did you just give up?" Kaito simply let the words slip out of his mouth, but those words were enough to completely ruin the moment. Kokichi pulled away from him instantly as soon as the words slipped out of his mouth, pushing him as far away as he could with his weak arms, wiping his eyes with his sleeve. His eyes were bright red and puffy as he started back at him, laughing.

"Nishishi~ Nishi..ishi.."

Kaito backed up, putting his hand out to try and apologise or justify what he had said. Sure in retrospect it was the wrong choice of words, but if he just had the option to give a reason, then he'd be fine. However, he massively doubted that the smaller male would give him a single chance for an explanation.

"This was your plan all along, wasn't it?!~ You.. you were waiting for this moment!" He kept pointing at the astronaut, gradually getting more and more violent and aggressive with each and every word he spat out. He growled, pissed off that he didn't get an immediate answer. Well, he didn't expect any less from such an idiot like Kaito..

He searched around and set his eyes on the same knife. Kokichi's eyes narrowed as the reflection of the gleam from the knife filled his vision; he swiped it up from the floor and then flipped it around, pointing the handle towards the astronaut. "Take it, kill me, gimme what I deserve~"

Kaito felt his hand outstretch all by itself without having the capability to stop himself. Kokichi smirked as the knife was taken out of his hands; the astronaut had finally revealed his own true colours. He observed as he glanced at the knife and tilted it from side to side, watching the light reflect off of it when he moved it.

The truth was he wanted to see whether Kaito had the capacity to commit murder. There was the supportive side of him for sure, the 'sidekick' side but there had to be a flip side and Kokichi suspected that might be the complete opposite to that. Maybe he was going to snap if given the opportunity?

Kokichi crosses his arms, trying to brace himself for an attack. He hoped that he wasn't shaking as he didn't want Kaito to know that he was afraid of dying.

He may have been more angry and uncontrollable as of late, but that was all to weigh up who he could trust other than Maki. He had definitely overdone it with Tsumugi when he realised who she truly was.. but with Kaito, no, that was simply a clever lie, especially that meltdown. He just thought about Shuichi and those tears rolled out, that helped the realism.
