(straight back to the trial, if you don't remember, maybe re-read the last part?)
"It could of been any of us?" Tsumugi asked, pretending to be concerned.
Shuichi clenched his hands into fists, desperately wanting to punch her as hard as he could. Something about her made him feel extremely uneasy, Tsumugi hadn't approached him since and she hadn't attempted anything but this made him feel more unnerved.
"Only a degenerate male could of done this! A female would never do something this.. vile and disgusting! Especially to a poor girl like Himiko!"
"Something doesn't sit right with me about this whole ideal Shuichi.." Korekiyo hissed, positioning his arm up by his face in a creepy fashion, "Earlier when you spoke about water on the poolside, I did not understand why you automatically assumed that it was due to a struggle."
Shuichi turned to Korekiyo, "It makes sense doesn't it?"
"No, it does not. You see, I suspect that the water may of formed an alternate way, perhaps-"
"Shut up! I believe in my sidekicks' detective work!" Kaito interjected, cutting Korekiyo off mid-sentence in the process.
"Yeah! The disgusting degenerate male doesn't deserve a chance to speak!" Tenko shouted, striking a classic violent Neo Aikido pose.
Kiyo's last statement had Shuichi thinking about what he was attempting to imply by it. What else could the water on the poolside meant? There did have to be a struggle because of the water but maybe it wasn't due to it splashing onto the poolside.
It had to mean something else, Shuichi just had to think.
"Hmmm?! Well, Atua thinks that the water could be from if the killer got out of the pool." Angie chimed, distracting Shuichi from his deduction.
Just as Shuichi was about to dismiss Angie's spur of the moment idea, he realised that she could actually be closer than he thought. "Angie, what do you mean, 'got out'?"
Angie raised her paintbrush to her lips, "Hmm, Atua seems to think that when the killer got out of the pool, it left a puddle of water and I think so to! Atua is always right!"
"But surely, there would be footprints." Maki pointed out in her usual cold tone.
Something clicked in Shuichi's mind as he heard those words being spoken.
He had finally figured out the murder.
He knew who had committed it but he couldn't let them know that he knew, he had to keep a neutral expression as he didn't yet have their confession.
"If you want to expose a liar, you have to corner them psychologically."
Shuichi looked towards Kokichi for some kind of support but the liar wasn't looking his way. He saw the fake look of confidence on the other's face then took a deep breath and turned back to the main trial.
He had one shot to trap the killer and he could not throw it away.
"Kiibo," The robot looked at him, "What do you remember about the night of the murder?"
He took a few moments to reply, "I remember handing out drinks to everyone and.. meeting Miu in her lab... that's all I'm afraid."
"If the killer was wet from the pool water.. and there were no footprints.. then they would of had to be dried by something. But there was nothing in the pool strong enough to do that!" Tenko shouted, distracting the detective once again.
"G-Gonta doesn't understand.."
"That's because Gonta's an idiot. I'm not surprised with that small brain of yours. Just try to keep up." Kokichi smirked.
