After a four day vacation in Hawaii, the happy family was finally on a flight back home. Kaylee has always had a horrible fright of airplanes. Especially since they were flying over the big blue ocean at the moment, she didn't dare let go of the arm rest.
Kaylee looked over at Jennifer and Jon who were both holding hands and sleeping soundly. She stared at her dad for a bit. He was acting really weird during the whole trip. Like when he bought her a bunch of new clothes and accessories even though the other girls weren't around. He even did the most unexpected thing when he gave Kaylee her mom's necklace that she wore to her wedding. It was a prized possession to Jon.. and he gave it to Kaylee? He was obviously trying to be nice. It made Kaylee's skin crawl to think about it. She was actually more afraid of him when he's playing the nice guy. She wrapped her fingers around her moms necklace and tightly caressed it.
She unlocked the screen of her cell phone and sent a text to Tom. She really needed to talk to him but he's been ignoring her lately. She cant really recall anything that she did to upset him. He left the wedding early for some reason and he hasn't talked to her since. She wanted to go look for him at his house the next day but she had her date with Nathan to go to and then after that she left for Hawaii.
Once the plane was landed and the passengers got off, Jon and the girls got into their car and drove home. Kaylee, Cristal, and Elena were in the back of the car squealing and giggling about how Cristal got this hot guys number when they were chilling by the beach. After that got home, they followed Cristal into her bedroom.
"So speaking of hot guys.. I cant believe your going out with Nathan! He's a dream."
"I guess.. We went to go see a scary movie just because the first date is always really awkward. He held my hand and cuddled with me throughout the whole movie. He's taking me to Disneyland next week." Kaylee smiled at the memory
"You've never been there?" Cristal gasped.
"Nope."
"You haven't lived yet." Elena laughed.
"Did you know that Elena used to have a very big crush on Nathan? The whole school knew about it." Cristal teased her sister.
"Shut up!" Elena's cheeks turned bright red.
"Really?" Kaylee was caught off guard.
"Yeah, I would get so upset because he didn't like me back but then Peter came along and swept me off my feet." Elena imagined her lips against his and grinned.
"Oh." Kaylee didn't know what else to say. She felt horrible for not telling Elena about how Peter kissed her at the party but she didn't want to ruin the relationship she has sculpted with her just yet.
"What's wrong?" Elena noticed her sudden silence. "Seriously, what did I say? Tell me."
"It's nothing." Kaylee shrugged.
"Kaylee, were family now. You can tell me anything." Elena knew it wasn't good news but she'd rather hear about it now than later.
"It's just that.. I don't know how to tell you this.. but.. Peter kissed me a few weeks ago and I never said anything because I had just met you and I didn't want you to hate me.." Kaylee stuttered at first but then she spit it out.
"..what?" Elena took a long pause, not able to believe it. She took a breath and hugged Kaylee. She knew Kaylee meant well and she didn't want to stir up a fight. Elena pulled away from the hug. "I wanna be alone."
"Elena.." Kaylee grabbed her arm.
"Please. I need time to think." Elena walked into her room and locked herself in.
