Y/n's pov

We flew back home after our game with Portland which ended in a tie. It's now Friday and we have the day off so Mom, Ash and Alex decided to have a beach day. We got out of the car and I help grab our things and we walk down to the sand. I put my sunscreen on and I lay down on the towel looking for something to do and I see Ash grab her surfboard and I run over to her.

"Hey Ash can you teach me how to surf?"

"Yeah sure kid, go grab the other surfboard and meet me out there" she says and I do so. After many failed attempts I finally get the hang of it and we ride some waves for a while then we go back to shore to dry off and we chat for a while. We eat our lunch that we packed and tan for a bit then we head home.

I shower to get all the sand off of me and I see that Jill released the roster and I look and see that Mom, Ash and Alex are on it but I'm not but weirdly I'm not upset or anything.

"Hey Y/n could you come here for a second" I hear mom yell and I run down the stairs

"So the roster was released an-" she started but I cut her off

"I'm not on it"

"Honey I'm so sorry"

"Mom it's okay really I'm not upset it just gives me more of an opportunity to play for the pride and make a name for myself" I smile and she looks at me weirdly

"You don't want to go see everyone?"

"Trust me I do but I can't just leave the team here for my own selfish reasons"

"I'll be flying out tomorrow are you sure you'll be fine by yourself?" She says and I laugh

"Yeah mom I'll be perfectly fine I'm not a kid ya know" I smile and she gives me a hug and her phone rings signaling she got a text

"Alex invited us to dinner at her house" she says and I smile

"Sounds fun lets go" I say and she text back saying that we'll come so I run upstairs and get ready. I meet mom and Ash back downstairs and we get in the car and when we get there I run up to the door and ring the doorbell and some man answers it. Must be her husband.

"Hello you must be Y/n Alex told me that Ali was bringing her daughter, I'm Servando nice to meet you" he says and I shake his hand and walk in to see Alex in the kitchen so I walk in there.

"Hey old lady" I smile and she glares but mumbles a hello and I laugh. I help her make the rest of the food and set up the food.

"So the Barca vs Madrid game starts at 6 we can eat the game then watch the game" she says and I nod we eat then we gather around the tv and I end up sitting next to Servando so we start talking and he's pretty chill.

"So who y'all got?" I ask and mom Ash and Alex say Real Madrid while Servando and I say Barca is going to win. It's finally the last 10 minuets of the game and their tied 2-2 until Messi gets fouled inside the box and the red gives the defender a red card and Barca a penalty which Messi takes and scores causing Servando and I to jump up and down and start yelling. The teams finish out the half with Barca winning 3-2 and Servando and I did a little dance to celebrate.

"You two are dumb" Alex mumbles and we laugh and we all chat for a while.

"Alex are you flying out tomorrow too?" I ask and she smiles sadly

"Yeah I am, kick butt in our next few games ok?" she smiles and I nod. We head home and I help mom and Ash pack their things and we decided to have a movie night and I head up to bed around 10.

The next day

I wake up and head downstairs to see a note on the table.

Hey kiddo sorry I didn't get to tell you goodbye this morning our flight was super early so we had to leave we'll be back in a few weeks, stay out of trouble and kick butt at our games. If you need help here's Servando's phone number. Be safe, I love you!

"Love you too mom" I sigh and I pour myself some cereal and watch some tv before I have to go to practice, I sit down on the couch and I get a text.

Nessa: Hey do you wanna go out for lunch today?

Me: Yeah that sounds great but I have practice at 11 so can we do 1?

Nessa: Sure thing 1 at the restaurant where we met sound good?

Me: Yeah sounds good

I put my phone down and finish eating my food, I head upstairs and shower and get my things together and set my bag by the door so I wont forget it. I decide to play fifa until I have to leave so after I play a few matches I turn it off and grab the car keys and drive to the stadium. I got a few looks but I just figured that they were thinking that I would go with mom and Ash. I grab a ball and start to warm up with Dani then coach tells us that we'll be scrimmaging today and we all nod. After an hour of scrimmaging coach tells us we have a game against Sky Blue in two days then says we can go home and I grab my stuff and head home to shower then I head to the restaurant to meet Vanessa. I get to the restaurant a little early so I grab a booth and wait for her to show up but while I'm waiting a guy walks up to me and he's maybe in his mid to late 30s.

"You're Ali Krieger's kid aren't you, gosh you look just like her." he says and I look at him skeptically and I think he realized because he continued talking.

"Sorry that probably sounded creepy, I'm Adam Thompson I used to go to school with your mom we used to be best friends actually. I heard she had a kid and after she did we just kinda stopped talking" he said looking down and I kinda felt bad that they stopped talking

"How'd you two loose contact?"

"After she had you we kinda had a fight and I tried to apologize but she just wouldn't talk to me so we drifted apart" he said and I slowly nod we talk a little bit more about his past with my mom but we stop when I see Nessa.

"It was good to see you Y/n" he said and walked away. Good to see me the heck does that mean you only say that to someone you haven't seen in a while and I've never met this man before weird. Nessa and I had a nice lunch while taking a few funny snapchats of each other we say goodbye and I head home but I decided to text mom really quick to ask her a question.

Me: Hey mom why did you stop talking to Adam Thompson?

Mom: Why do you know that name?

Me: He came up to me today when I was meeting Vanessa for lunch. He said you two used to be best friends then you guys had a fight and you stopped talking to him. What was the fight about?

Mom: It doesn't matter just don't talk to him ever again he's not a good person ok.

Me: Why isn't he a good person?

Mom: Look Y/n please just promise me you wont talk to him again i'll tell you when I get back home ok

Me: Ok I promise, I love you mom

Mom: I love you too baby girl.
