Y/n's pov

Im in the locker room listening to Jill as she goes over the game plan for the 100th time. Jill is starting Pinoe, Alex and Mal up top first then subbing me in for Mal I'm the 60th minuet. I walk out to the bench as the game starts jogging up and down the sideline every now and then to stay loose and ready to go. The half ends with us being up 2-0. The 60th minuet rolls around and I give the ref my card as Mal jogs over and hugs me then I run in. We fight for possession in the midfield a while until Tobin steals the ball away and sends it my way and I take off down the side sending in a cross which Lindsey meets with her head sending it into the back of the net. She points at me running at me then jumps up and I hug her laughing. We head back to midfield and while jogging back I see Vanessa and we make eye contact and smirks turning around showing me my USA jersey that she's wearing. She really did it this girl I swear.

We start the half back up and in the 88th minuet we get a break and I sprint towards the goal giving a signal to Pinoe who has the ball at the moment she gives a nod the crosses the ball in and I hit it on the volley. I watch as the ball hits the back of the net and I throw my hands up in celebration, the ref calls the game and we celebrate by doing a victory lap signing things and taking pictures with fans and I make my way over to Vanessa.

"I'm waiting" she smirks

"Uhh maybe later? Not right here" I say looking at the fans who are watching us intently

"Y/n! Y/n! Can you sign this for me!" A little girl yells so I grab the sharpie and sign her poster

"Can you also sign my jersey? I got your number because I'm your biggest fan" she smiles showing her missing two front teeth and I couldn't help but grin

"Aww anything for you" I sign her jersey and take a picture with her. I turn back to Vanessa and she smiles

"Want to go to lunch with me and my friends?" She asks

"Sure your friends are hot" I smirk knowing that she'll get mad

"Um excuse me you won't be doing any flirting or anything like that if you go with us" she says

"No flirting? Not even with you? Okayyyy" I tease

"Wait that's not what I meant and you know it" she whines

"Nope no flirting got it. Anyways text me the place and time. Jill has us do recovery and makes us go over our game tape so we can see what we need to work on" I say and she nods as I walk away

"I expect to hear you say it later!" She yells and I shake my head continuing to sign some fan stuff. We get back on the bus and with my luck the only seat is by Morgan. I sigh and sit down next to her putting my headphones in listening to my music. I get a text from Julie and I look over at her since she's sitting diagonally in front of me.

Julie 💚🦋: You know I wanted to beat her ass when I found out what she did but then she explained to me what happened and why she did it and I think maybe you should hear her out. It might change things between you two.

Me: 😒 doubt it I don't want to listen to what she has to say, at least not right now.

Julie💚🦋: I get that you want to give it some time and I understand, just remember if you ever need anything any of us would bend over backwards for you kid💗

Me: Thanks Jules I love ya💗

Julie💚🦋: I love you too kid💗

I lean my head back and sigh as Khalid's song Coaster comes on, we get to the hotel and we all watch our game tape as Jill points out what we need to tighten up on. We then do recovery. I get a text from Vanessa and she tells me the place and the time is at 12. I look at the clock and see that it's 11:30 I quickly responded then make my way to get ready.
