After we won the concacaf tournament mom, Ash and I decided to fly out to Portland to look at some apartments and out of the ones we looked and a few days of deciding which one to get, I decided that the nice simple one would do fine. After we decided we had to move all my stuff over which took a few weeks but once it was done my apartment looked really nice.

"Alright you promise to call me every week right?" Mom says and I laugh
"Mom we've been through this already remember? I'll be fine, I've got Tobs, Lindsey and Sonnet here with me" I smile
"I know it's just this time you'll be away for who knows how long"
"I'll see you when we play you guys and I'll be there on breaks" I say there's a knock on the door so I go to open it.
"Hey kid" Tobin smiles I look to see Alex behind her
"Hey Tobin Hey Alex" I give them both a hug.
"Nice place kid" Tobin says and I thank her.
"Tobin make sure you watch my baby for me" Mom says giving me a hug from behind
"I will"
"Wanna give a tour Y/n?" Alex asks
"Ha Yeah sure but there's not too much to see. So obviously this is the living room, and that's the kitchen. Uh the bathroom is right down here. This is my bedroom and this a small guest bedroom. Yeah that's about it" I say
"It's very nice, when do you two fly back home?" Alex asks
"Tomorrow, we came to help her move in" Ash says. They continue to talk among themselves while I feel my phone buzz. I look to see it's a text from Morgan since we've been on talking terms.
Morgan: Hey how's the apartment looking
Me: it looks really good, I'll give you a virtual tour as soon as everyone leaves.
Morgan: Sounds good. I'll be in Portland next week to meet a friend... do you think we could get some lunch one day?
Morgan: We don't have too of course if you're busy, I'd understand since you just moved into your apartment.
Me: Yeah lunch sounds good, I have no plans at all. Thursday at 1pm sound okay?
Morgan: Yeah sounds great. See you then.
"Who ya texting that's got you smiling like that?" Mom asks
"What? I wasn't smiling. Was I?" I ask
"Yeah you were smiling like a kid on Christmas who just got the toy they've been asking for" Ash says
"Oh didn't notice" I say. The rest of the day was spent with mom making sure I have everything I need to survive only for me to tell her every time that I'll be fine on my own. Tomorrow rolled around and I drove mom and mamma to the airport and watched them disappear through airport security. I arrive back home and observe my empty apartment, I take a deep breath and smile. I FaceTime Morgan and give her a brief tour of the apartment and once we hang up I find something to occupy myself.
*Time skip to next Thursday*
"So this is your apartment it looks a lot better in person then over a camera" Morgan says and we walk in.
"Yeah I guess so, Uh make yourself at home I guess" I say putting the keys on the counter
"You are my home"
"Morgan-"
"Look I know we said we would take things slow and start off by being friends but it's slowly killing me. I miss you, I miss us. I just want things to be how they used too"
"I know you do but it's hard for me Morgan, I still love you but I don't know if I can trust you. You cheated-"
"But you know-"
"I know why you did it. I know what you thought you were doing was the right thing but I just don't- I can't" I take a deep breath.
"I'm just confused Morgan. Everyone is telling me to think with my head, not that thing in my chest. I feel like their hands are at my neck, my head and everyone they're all telling me to move on but my heart is saying that it just wants to be with you." I say running my hands over my face. I suddenly feel a pair of lips on mine and I kiss back with all my emotions clearly showing in the kiss but I quickly pull back.
"I'm trying to figure out all my emotions and what I want and you kissing me is not helping right now"
"I know it isn't but I just felt like we both needed that." She says
"Hey look I'm going to head out" she says
"Morgan wait-" I say but she leaves and I slide down the back of the door looking up and I sigh.
"Why can't love be easy?"
