"Where's Jack?" I asked.
"He never came back in." Dillan said. "So i assumed he was already in your room."
"No he never came back." I said.
"Hmm...weird." He said.
"I'll go check in his parents room."
"You do that." Dillan said. "I'm gonna go make sure the kids are in bed."
I gave him a hug.
"I'm so glad you are home." I said.
"Me too." He held me tight.
I then let go and walked out. Shutting the door behind me.
I ran back to his parents room.
I knocked.
The door swung open.
"Oh hey Sarah." Ava smiled.
"Is Jack here?" I asked.
"No we thought he was already in your guys' room." She said.
"I'll go check downstairs." I said.
"Okay."
I ran to the elevator and went down to the lobby.
I looked around. He wasn't anywhere.
I walked outside and to where he was going to park.
"Jack?" I called.
"Please!" It was Jack. I knew his voice. "Please! Help!"
I ran to where the car was parked.
Three guys in ski masks beating him up.
I immediatly grabbed out my phone and called the police.
They looked up and saw me.
Two of them began running.
One grabbed the bat and hit Jack right in the back.
I tried to catch my breath.
The guy began running.
Jack collapsed to the ground.
I ran over.
"Jack?" I touched his stomach. He winced in pain. "Jack don't worry everything will be fine. The police are on their way."
I moved his shirt a little farther up.
His back was filled with marks from where the bat had hit.
His spine didn't look right.
His wrists were red.
And his stomach had bruises.
He had a swollen eye.
"Jack?" I said.
He didn't answer me.
He was breathing hard.
He lost a lot of blood.
I took off his shirt for him and wrapped his hand to help stop the bleeding.
"Jack please answer me." I cried. "I held him close to me."
He was quiet.
Still breathing heavy.
He twisted and turned in pain.
"And if the sky falls I'll catch it." I sang. "Just to steal you a star."
I cried against his chest.
"I'll ride into battle... For you." He managed to sing. "Just so we could..."
