Caden

We were sitting in the hospital with Sarah.

Everyone was knocked out except for Damien, Dillan, Sarah, and I.

"All of this vacationing is knocking off my homework schedule." I said trying to figure out my calculus.

"What are you talking about?" Dillan asked.

"I mean like, I have to do math, on an A day!" I said.

"And?" Sarah said through her weak voice.

"I only have math on B days." I complained.

I felt someone breathing against my neck.

I turned around.

Damien was peeking at my homework over my shoulder.

"Can I help you?" I asked.

The expression on his face looked like he was puzzled.

"Caden?" He managed to say.

"Yes?"

"Why are you spelling with letters and numbers?" He tilted his head.

"Ppffftt!" Dillan burst out in laughter.

"I'm not spelling." I said.

"You do understand you don't have auto-correct when you are actually writing on a paper, right?" Damien said sitting down on the spinny chair he was standing on.

I slapped my forehead.

"N-V-M." I said.

"Nuhvuhm." Damien sounded out.

"Never mind." I said.

"But it would just be N-M. Never Mind"

"Uuugggghhh!!"

I spun around in the chair with my hands in the air.

"Sshhh!" Dillan shushed me.

I rolled my eyes.

I then heard whispering.

I turned towards Jack's bed.

Jack lied there.

No movement.

Sarah's hands interlocked with his.

She was crying and holding his hands with a lot of hope in her face.

"Please wake up." She pleaded. "Please don't leave me."

"Sa-" I began to stand up.

Dillan pulled me back.

"Don't." He whispered.

I nodded watching as my sister cried and held her true loves hands.

"You know I've loved you for the longest time ever, please just wake up." She cried. "I can't lose you right now. Not again."

She kissed his hand.

She slipped off their rings and put them together.

She set them on top of her phone and left it on the bed.

She kept crying.

"I don't know, what I would do with-without you." She tried breathing. "I need you. I really do. And without you, I can't live."

Damien ran over to Sarah and gave her a hug.

Sarah kissed his small forehead and smiled.

Damien ran back to his coloring book and continued to color.
