You stare at the dark land throughout your moon lit window, sighing sadly. You loved him truly, and did not want this for yourself. Though you two could not be together, it was forbidden.
He was an immortal and you could only go so far to be with him, but as time goes on the best for the both of you were to just let it go. But for a last time you request his company one last time.
Walking away from the window, you lead towards your wardrobe, taking the brush from the surface and slowly pulling it through your h/l h/c locks.
Arms wrap around your waist and a kiss was placed beneath your ear, making you smile softly. "Beautiful as always," He pushes your hair to one side of your neck.
"Vlad..." you state, placing the brush back onto the dresser. “You came." You could feel him smile against your head.
"Of course my dear ______, have I ever showed absence when it comes to you?" Your smile widens as you turn around still in his arms, resting your head and hands on his chest.
"This is...the last time you'll be able to hold me like this." You murmur, looking up at him sadly. He holds you tighter into his arms, kissing you passionately.
"That is true my love but let's make the most of this last night we have together. Let’s make it memorable." He places his hands onto your waist, kissing down your neck and collarbone.
He looks into your eyes before whispering a sweet yet settle "I love you ______." He said placing his soft lips onto yours. "Vladimir....I love you too."
He carries you bridal style to the bed, removing his coat and gloves, before taking his place above you. "As long as I know that I'm your first, and that Not another man will ever love you like I do, contents me."
You smiled, but tears still found their way down your face. "I wish not, to marry this man, for I do not truly love him. I wish to be with you...forever..." You stare into his now sorrowful eyes, his hands cupping your tear stained cheeks.
"I know that _______, but I cannot bear to put you through the pain of becoming like me." He replied. Nevertheless you smiled. "I know, as long as you still hold a place in your heart for me, as long as I can be your light, I couldn't care less." He smiled sadly, capturing your lips in a kiss again.
"Well, love me tonight and forever on, even if we cannot be one physically, I'll always be watching over you." You nodded, not wanting another word to be said, not while you two were still together, not while you were there at that time. Not until the sun came up.
You just wanted to be with him, then and there.
*~29 year later~*
He stood over her grave, gazing down at the cold dirt that buried her six feet under. He was filed with an agonizing sadness, and anxious urge for her to still be there.
He had not cried, not that day; because he didn't completely loose her. She had left something behind, proof that the love that those two left behind was real, that it was worth something.
Standing there beside him was a young man with e/c eyes.
Her eyes, the eyes that he loved looking in so many times before
The eyes that sparkled with happiness whenever they saw him
The same eyes that cried that night for him to never let her go: her eyes
The eyes that she and he had left behind, he stared at the young man with the e/c eyes, he had his hair and nose, and is feeling the same way his is now.
Again, he stared at your grave, laying his lips upon the cold stone before folding up the letter and sliding it into the pocket of his pants. If only she had told him earlier.
To my dearest love Vladimir,
I have come to the conclusion that we will not see each other for a very long time now.
I can sense you watching over me, like you promised that night.
I can still sense your love and of course I can assure you that you can sense mine.
Our love has not been in vain, not to me, for we have benefited a beautiful child from it.
