Enjoy. I really liked this chapter; nice and slow.

*I've already uploaded this, this note is an edit: I've noticed that in this chapter, I've sped up Alex's pregnancy. Now this would work out but because of the date mentioned in this chapter, It can't. I mentioned 19 origonally, It's now 13. :) I've counted the weeks, so this time it's legit. Thanks.

“Miss Kendrick? Did you hear me?”

I looked up at my geometry teacher in confusion. I didn’t hear a word that she just said and felt kind of bad when I looked around to realize that everyone else had the same expression on their face.

“No,” I shook my head. “I’m sorry.”

She sighed and turned back to the smart-board, using her finger to write out the question. “Since you can’t hear me, let’s see if you can read what I have written,” she paused and pointed at the question. “Answer this.”

What conjuncture is this? The triangle next to it was connected by one side and there was an angle congruence sign, along with a double hash through the opposite line. “SAS Congruence.”

A smiled appeared on my teacher’s face. “Very well! Now…”

At that time, my mind decided to zone off again as the lesson continued until the bell rang. If there’s one thing that I hate, it’s math. But I’m apparently good at it, so it’s alright.

I slung my bag over my shoulder and walked out of the class, following Aiden Bouchard, one twin that sits at the lunch table. I never really talked to him and noticed that he doesn’t talk to anyone without his brother by his side.

Michael was waiting for me at my locker and when he saw me, I could tell he was trying to keep cool, but his eyes shone a little bit. I smiled back and opened my locker.

His hand gently touched my back and I shivered. “Hey.”

All I got back was a smile. Right now, I was happy where we were. That moment in a relationship between two people where you’re not that serious, but the idea of standing next to that one person just gives you chills and glee. Yes, I was so happy.

“How was class?”

I shook my head. “Miserable,” I grabbed my camera for photography and closed my locker. “So…I was wondering…”

Michael perked up. “Yes?”

Damn it. I’m blew it. “Leah…we’re going to the haunted houses downtown and I was wondering if you’d like to come with us?” I was so nervous that it came out more of a question. Sweat beaded on my neck.

A sigh escaped his lips.

“I’d love to. You’re going?”

I nodded. “It’s Leah, Cale, myself, and I invited my brother too.”

Inviting Adrian was a last minute gesture. I had wanted to spend time with him before but it didn’t work out so I’d asked him to come along, maybe meet my friends. He’d said yes.

Michael leaned down to give my hand a gentle squeeze before backing away slowly, sending me a shy smile. “I’ll come to your house after school.”

We both went our own ways, me heading to the art department, and Michael walking toward the science wing. When I walked into the room, there was a slide show up ready to be presented by Mrs. Wrought. I took my usual spot and pulled out my notes from the day before. We had started talking about more complex portraits the other day, something that I’m really excited about. I’ve always loved emotions and being able to display the many feelings through one frozen frame is always fascinating to me.
