Michael

Things were getting bad, and I knew it. So did Cale.

Alex's pregnancy was defiantly not going the way that I thought it would. Never in a million years would I think that we would have had sex in the first place. This entire thing was a shock to me. I was in a tough situation because Cale watched me mope around at home all day, or all weekend. Sure, at school, I was cheery and put on a smile. But that was all for Alex. I wanted her to be happy.

But Cale knew I was in pain. Shit, if my own brother, who never thinks to pay special attention to me, notices me in a crappy mood, then things were bad.

He confronted me one Saturday morning. I was in my room, texting back and forth with Alex. Whenever she sent me a reply, I would smile. In both the message and in my room.

"Michael."

I glanced up at my brother, a smirk settling onto my features. "What do you want?"

"I want to talk about Alex," He said and st down in the chair across the room. I wanted carefully as he made himself comfortable by placing his feet up on my dresser and his hands behind his neck. Whuta couch potato.

I sighed, glancing down as my phone lit up with the message from Alex. "What about her?"

"Are you texting her?" He asked, motioning to the phone in my lap.

"Well, yeah."

"I want you to stay away from her."

My head snapped up and I sent a glare in his direction. Fuck? "What the hell, Cale! Why?"

Cale frowned. "This whole thing is messed up. You two hooking up, her getting pregnant, you to texting. You guys are the weirdest couple ever!"

"What we did isn't that strange?"

He shook his head quickly. "No, I mean, you've never shown an interest in her before, have you?"

I shrugged.

"Alex isn't someone to not know about. She's been my best friend forever. If you're going to date her, act interested-"

"That's not what I meant by that!" I shouted, standing up and throwing my phone on my bed. "I love her, and have for a long time."

His eyes widened and his hand covered his mouth. So much for waiting to tell her and not my brother...

I huffed, sitting back down on my bed. "Look, I've gotta go, Cale. I'll see you later."

He followed me into the front foyer and watched as I grabbed my leather jacket and opened the door.

"Wait! Where are you going?"

"Alex's getting a sonogram. I want to be there for her," I snapped. Damn, could he be any more into my business?

A car pulled around the corner and I recognized the Yukon XL as Alex's family car. I noticed Alex sitting in the front seat, her head down. Goodness, she was the most beautiful thing. My heart warmed up just a bit when she waved and opened her door, stepping out of the car.

"Hey, Mikey," She laughed.

I waved at Sara and she smiled, pulling to a stop in front of my walk-way. The car unlocked and I opened the back seat, but then heard another car door open. When I looked up after I got in my seat, Alex was sitting in the chair next to me. She smiled.
