* Alex is not going to call her dad "dad" or "father", got it? :) She's just going to call him David, especially in her own thoughts...just lettin' ya know and reminding you all who didn't know her dad's name was David. K.
* Oh and some of you might have seen that I commented that Alex was twelve weeks along. I'm changing that to eleven in order for Halloween. :)

Almost all the way to David's house, which happened to only be about forty-five minutes, my mom was humming along to the radio. No matter what song, she would sing it. This surprised me because she didn't even like this radio station...
So instead of humming happily along with her, I looked out the window and thought about all the great times that Michael and I have had so far. He had been so sweet that night at the bonfire, which was eleven weeks ago, and then when I had gone over to his house to spend time with Cale and Leah, and so many other times. And then I realized that he wasn't mine. I had let him go when he had been so sweet and supportive of everything I've done.
My hands went to my stomach and I heard my mom stop humming. She reached over to place her hand over mine. "Everything will be fine, alright?"
I didn't answer her, not trusting my voice. I don't know why I was doing this. Part of me really wanted to meet my father but the other half was telling me that he truly didn't want me. If he did, he would have tried to make contact with me years ago. Kind of immature, if you ask me.
A tear rolled down my plump cheeks and I reached up to wipe it with the cuff of my peacoat. The autumn breeze outside of the car blew slowly into the car through the cracked window, leaving me with a happy temperature. I always love this weather. This time of the year, the leaves are changing colors and everyone is starting to put up decorations for the upcoming holiday, Halloween.
Time passed very quickly and before I knew it we were at David's. By now, my stomach had knotted up into more than three nots. I don't think I'd ever been more nervous in my entire life. This was the final moment: I was going to meet my other parent, my father, the reason for my existance.
I slowly got out of the car, instinctively pulling down my shirt. Sadly, after my phone call with Michael I had gotten distracted and a little behind schedule. I ended up with a shirt that didn't exactly cover my stomach from other people. So when I get inside, I going to plan on just wearing it the entire time.
My mom walked over to me and reached for my hand, gently pulling me forward toward the house. She knocked firmly at the door without any hesitation, while I would have taken four minutes before I would have gained the confidence to knock. The door opened after my mother's second knock and a man stood there, a broad smile on his face. He reached forward to hug my mom and then looked down at me. He was so tall, he made me feel just like a little girl again.
"Alexa," He reached forward to give me a warm hug. It was kind of odd at first, but then he released me after he realized that I wasn't going to be hugging him back. "It's nice to see you."
"I go by Alex." I stated, by face in a frown. I'm sure I looked like a sad puppy to him. Honestly, I was scared but I was trying to be strong at first.
My mom yanked my hand next to her to get my attention. "Watch your manners."
"Sorry," I mumbled.
David shook his head, smiling, and waved his hand as if it didn't happen. "It's fine, Marie. C'mon Alex, I'd like to introduce you to the gang." We walked through the threshold and my mom closed the door behind us.
"Has my mom already met your kids?"
David looked at me, his brows pushed together as he smiled. "Yes, and they were very welcoming. Don't you worry."
Just like I've been doing all day, I instinctivly pulled my peacot closer together and tried to hide my stomach. I'm going to be in deep shit if David sees my stomach.
A frown settled on my face as he continuedd down a long hallway and then suddenly a bright light caused me to squint my eyes. There were windows everywhere. And then I realized that we were in a sunroom. On the couch facing away from the windows were three teenagers. One girl, two boys. They were all sitting next to each other, except for one of the guy who was sitting on the floor, playing video games. The girl was messing with her phone and her legs crossed.
"Hey, guys!" David yelled to get their attention, suddenly reminding me of a young teenager.
All three of them looked up. "This is Alex."
I faked a smile, awkwardly raising my hand to wave. The guys smiled but the girl narrowed her eyes. "Um, hello..."
By this poing, my heart was beating faster than a drummer's beats. I couldn't believe it...how could my mom not tell me? And he looked just like me! The boy who had said hello saw it too. We were both seeing each other, but in the opposite gender.
The boy on the floor was my brother. But not just my brother, he was my twin.
He must have seen it as well because he was staring at me the way the I'm sure I was looking at him. His eyes were wide, his lips parted slightly.
"Holy shit!"
A female voice broke me out of my trance, as well as the boy's. The voice came from the girl who was sitting on the couch, next to the other boy. She was looking back and forth between the two of us.
"You...," I said quietly, cocking my head to the side as I moved my attention back to my twin.
He stood up and started to walk toward me, his eyes widening once again. "You..."
I gasped, my hand covering my mouth. This wasn't happening. I didn't have any other siblings other than Jess and Lucy! I didn't really know what to do from here, so I turned to look at my mom. Her brows were pushed together as she looked at the two of us. "It's so good to see the two of you together finally."
She sniffed, her hand covering her nose and mouth. David smiled sadly at the two of us before walking forward. "I'm sure you both have figured it out already, but you're twins."
Gee, thanks for stating the obvious, dad.
I turned to the boy. "Who are you?"
"I'm Adrian." He shrugged and looked down, his hands find their way to his pants pockets. "And you're Alex, right?"
I nodded.
"Well, it's nice to meet you, twin," Adrian smirked at me. Goodness, we looked alike. It was scary.
A smile slipped onto my face. "You too."
David let out a loud chuckle. "Well now that Alex and Adrian have been reunited, let's eat brunch, shall we? You two may sit next to each other to get more aquanted."
