Walking back from the bathroom, I wiped off the vomit from the side of my mouth. Leah still didn’t know about my pregnancy, and I didn’t want anyone to. I still haven’t decided if I’m going to abort the pregnancy or keep it. Either way, I don’t want too many people knowing the whole story. One thing’s for sure; I do not want to tell Michael now. I realize that it will be harder to tell him the longer this goes on, but I can’t do it now. Maybe once I sort things out.
Leah lay in my room on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. I don’t think she knew that I was there as I stood and watched her. She closed her eyes and without a word, stuck her finger up her nose.
“Leah!” I screamed and ran up to her.
She jumped up quickly and yanked her finger out of her nose. “What?”
I stared at her, shocked. Had she really just done that? Ew. “That’s so disgusting!”
“What is?”
My eyes bugged out at her. “You just picked your nose…?”
“….What? No I didn’t,” She responded and sat on the edge of my bed. I stayed half way across the room.”
Her face held an expression so curious, I couldn’t help but think that she’s trying to get me to believe that I’m hallucinating. I continued to stare at her and she stared back smirking.
“Ugh, whatever. I don’t care,” I mumbled and rolled my eyes.
Leah patted the spot next to her on the bed and I tumbled on over. She grinned at me. Just now, I noticed how extremely pretty Leah was. I’m not lesbian I just know when someone’s pretty or not, not to be cocky or anything. Over the summer Leah has gotten more and more pretty. She’s matured-not mentally of course-in her looks and she actually could pass for twenty-one.
I smiled back, and leaned back with her. As we both lay down on my bed I stared up at my ceiling. Back in sixth grade when I first became friends with Leah and Cale, we were always at my house playing. At sleepovers we did some pretty lame stuff. But of course, back then we thought we were so cool and tough. However, at one particular sleepover we decided that we would paint our names very small on the top of my ceiling. That way if I moved, the person would always see it. But they would probably just paint over it. And the deep blue that was once on my white popcorn ceiling was now a much lighter sky blue.
Thinking back at the years past made me realize how messed up my life will be now. If I could go back in time and look forward at my life, I would’ve never thought that I would be in this position right now. Never in a million years. Whether I decide to keep the baby or not, it will still affect me in more ways than one. Hopefully Leah will still be friends with me.
Leah groaned and closed her eyes like she had done before I walked in.
I giggled.
“I’m so bored!”
A thin sigh escaped my lips and I smiled. “What do you want to do?”
